Japanese Weapon Chart - 02

Reference chart for Japanese blades.

Notes: The kodachi and a wakizashi are the same, except that a wakizashi is the smaller partner to a larger sword. A kodachi is not. An aikuchi is the same as a tanto, except it does not have a tsuba (crossguard). There are multiple types of shuriken and shaken, and grouped together they can be called shuriken. shaken is used to refer to star-type shuriken. All are small thrown blades or darts.

A nagimaki means long wrapping, and it is a katana blade in a much longer wrapped hilt.

To be used in conjunction with this.
