Description
The Club Silverline is one of two species of the genus Spindasis to be found in Singapore. Of the two, the other being the Long-Banded Silverline (Spindasis lohita senama), the Club Silverline is much rarer. It is rarely encountered but when observed, it is usually on a bright sunny day as it flies rapidly amongst grassy undergrowth. The species has also been observed at Pulau Tekong. The main characteristics separating the Club Silverline from the Long-Banded Silverline are the club-shaped basal streak on the underside of the forewing and the mainly black edging of the silver streaks as compared to the reddish brown of the Long-Banded Silverline. The species has two pairs of white-tipped tails and an orange tornal area on the hindwings.
