It is Summer Stock Season - Where Are You Working?
Hello TheatreArtists! Many of our members are gearing up for summer stock theatre work. It is always a great portfolio building experience. Where are our members working? What shows do you get to build or design? I'm involved with The Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre this summer. We are doing Newsies, West Side Story, Mary Poppins, The Marriage of Figaro, Master Class, and Bravo, Caruso. Tell us what you are doing! Let's celebrate our work here.
Your humble Administrator,
Hello TheatreArtists group members! It is a good thing when we are busy, right? I have passed my eyes over our group now and then, and have done several approvals for artists to join us. I've cleaned out the member who've left DA and tidied up our site. We have some exciting new members. If anyone wants another contest, drop me a line.
And here is a shameless input for my own work. A White model for The Lion in Winter. Hurry up and add your own theatre artwork to our wonderful group.
Thanks for tagging my WIZ design drawing for your favourites. Wouldn't you know though, after all the work designing and drawing those cool set pieces, the only part that ended up being built was the black & grey fan unit that Evilene's throne traveled on. Even the matching throne was reconfabulated by props into something completely, well, I'll just say not of the same realm. The final production relied so heavily on projections that the team abandoned most of the practical set pieces I designed to cover the cost of the high end projection equipment. Don't get me wrong. I've incorporated projections in a number of my set designs. Just wish the decision had been made before I spent all those weeks researching and drawing the designs. At least I have some cool drafts to look at. Thanks again.
