Cho Chang by LMRourke Cho Chang by LMRourke
Color pencil drawing (one of my few for good reason) of Cho Chang, Harry's love interest from OoP. This drawing was done a couple of years ago and I was basing her on how I percieved her in GoF.

Looks awesome. Funny that I never tried to imagine Cho. *ponders* Anyway, that's really good. I love your shading. I can never manage shading with coloured pencils.

You did well on the shadingish properties of the coloring but the colors look... er... gray? That's the only word I can think of for it. Scanners do hate colored pencils. :shakefist: I've only managed to color things if I ink them first. Gives me textures to start with.

It probably looks gray because it was originally a pencil drawing. I had it all shaded and complete in pencil and then decided to try coloring it. I erased the pencil but not all so I could see how I shaded it. This is the only color drawing that came out decent using that method. I've since bought a light box and experimented by copying my old pencil drawing and coloring them. But somehow they just don't look as good as the black and white ones.

I'll have to try digitally coloring some of my drawings someday. I've watched my daughter and it looks a bit too daunting for an ol' lady like me right now. But I really like the results. Maybe it'll open a whole new field of artistic expression for me...........someday :)

Ah, I see. That'd be why it looks gray. And copying a drawing is not only difficult to do, but also a royal pain in the butt; you've already done it once! I've found that all I can do is ink it first, which has its limitations. Once I grow more accustomed to Ye Olde Paintshop Pro 8, hopefully I can do it more smoothly.

Ooh! I like the color of the shirt, makes this picture have a happy mood! :)
I really hate Cho... I dunno why, but I have this flaming hate for her! XD Not because she was going out with Harry, but just because... I dunno. =P I'm wierd. :)
I can never really draw Asian people, it takes practice. =P This is really nice though, and I like how the hair is. :)

Thanks!:D I don't think you're weird- I've known other people who feel the same for some reason. I have to say she was a bit annoying in OoP but I guess I feel sorry for her. It's tough to lose your first love and so tragically.

Well, yeah. She does have a reason to be sad......
But that's no reason to go snog poor Harry under mistletoe and cry all over him, then the next week get all mad at him for having a different friend that's a girl except for her.... selfish little brat. =P

Looks a older than how I imagined her in GoF, and I imagined her with shorter hair, speaking of what... I don't remember seeing Cho in anyone of the HP movies yet...

Anyway, the drawing looks great, and Cho looks beautiful :) ... What reminds me..., don't you think that Harry acts like a fool and Cho like a little emotionally unstable immature girl in OoP? Gesh, how frustrated I was every time those two were arguing stupidly... Darn you, fool Harry Potter! :shakefist:

Ah well, he's going through that awkward adolescent stage not to mention all the angst with Voldemort and all. Still, he was a bit annoying. Good thing he has true friends to see him through.:) Hope none of them die! :cries:

Oh, very good. A difference from your usual work. Every time I try to colour one of my drawings, it goes horribly wrong. But this looks good, it's still looks very realistic.

Thanks, again! Yeah, I don't use color pencils often. I've had some disasterous results trying to convert my pencil drawings to color but this one came out pretty well. :D
