Doodled this off the top of my head a while back, and I've been meaning to do somthing with it since - decided to go down the water colour route again and aside from colour adjustments and the border with photoshop its all water colours and white gauche - yay :)

I assume she's a writer/journalist going over a manuscript in a coffe shop, but what are other people's thoughts?

N.B I hate drawing hands.... -_-;;

She looks to me like an enthusiastic college student/english major, jotting down conversation and taking notes on dialect at a local hole-in-the-wall. Being a little wary that someone might catch onto her. :)

beautiful colours. Watercolours just have such a nice texture to them, and the colours youve chosen work subtly with this picture. Kind of dream like in a way - love it

Yea, I can see why u hate drawing hands.. they are one of the hardest (in my opinion).. but good job, except that it would be nice if u work more on drawing hands.. =P

That's a pretty personal opinion, but I love the colors here - purple with a bit of red, on yellowish background looks really good. I like how her pose is still, but has motion to it. Looks like she noticed something and is ready to get up any time now :'D.

ya eh? purple is the opposite colour of yellow, meaning that the purple is intensified by the yellow - which is probably why it works so well :)

Many thanks :)

I'd expect to see something like this in a magazine as art for a feature :) Your style really does shine brightly in this medium. The softened tones are very pleasing on the eye too...just goes to show you can work with the COMPLETE colour range from black and white to retina-burning bright.

...hands are a BITCH to draw. I feel your pain, and applaud your efforts here. :D

Well, its getting nearer the time when I've got to start actually putting my work to...er...work - so I'm pleased this has the magazine worthy illustration feel to it ^_^

I've never been all that confident with water colours, but with my precious gauche and photoshop correction layers on standby, I think my confidence is growing - muted is allways somthing nice to come back too - but gaudy is fun too ^_^

and yeah, hands...argh. MUST...work....more...on... them.... :(

Holy shit, I think I am in :heart: with this picture. There's just so much stylish goodness in it--the lineart, the watercolour style (the colour scheme too!), and just the overall look of this picture. You totally get that feeling that she's in a coffee shop, working on something that could be great. What I think is happening here is that perhaps she is going through a block, when suddenly she sees something-or-someone that has suddenly struck an inspirational chord, and it's like a really profound moment for her. At least, that's based on personal experience here ^^;

Anyway, this is just fantastic, and I love it to bits.

I've experienced that feeling before too, so I can definitly relate - heh - I kinda like how people are able to read into it as they like :)

Oooh Chris, should you? Ace drawing, I think she was writing about Andy (following the rules of writing as you would) and then remembered that she forgot that Andy is Lord... :P

Lol anyhow, it looks cool man and I hate drawing hands too!

Actually, she may be contemplating the fact that she forgot to get some cake and some crisps as per her instructions - the daft bint! ^_^

Heh, cheers dude :)
