Hi, I was going through your gallery and I got curious.

What is your workflow for a piece like Dysphoria ?
like, how is the character referenced / constructed / rendered

And also for comic pieces like The Chocolate Curse.
In what order (if any order) do you prefer to do things like :
Layout the panels,
Decide on the poses and facial expressions,
Decide on the angle to view the scene from.
Sketch / color / shade / whatever  ,the characters, objects and backgrounds

Hey

I'll do my best to answer your questions :)

Dysphoria is a pretty ancient piece so I don't know if I can recall the details behind it. Sorry.

Generally, my working method is as follows:

Rough thumbnail of the page including rough ideas of poses, expressions, angles etc.
Pencils or WIP based on thumbnail
Ink, paint or neaten in whatever medium I'm using for it.

The working method changes according to the medium I'm using. Now that I use a tablet, I have a much more traditional approach (soft brush for pencils, harder brush for inks, color or paint in Sai.)

I honestly appreciate your concern but I'm a bit puzzled why you keep pasting the same message on all my new pieces, my front page and so forth. I'm not going to keel over and I will definitely consider the option of one-shot and shorter SFS comics for now.

Many thanks again for your concern. Much appreciated :)

I've been wondering. If maybe do a piece, where Cal 'poses' nude for Quartz to draw him. ;) So, if Quartz has to go on mission, Quartz has something to remember Cal with.....also, for sexiness.

Unless, Quartz can draw worth a damn. Just a suggestion.

*************

Vanessa: Did you finish the decorations, Rabbit?
Rabbit: No, not yet. I, I kinda got sidetracked. [reveals a mouse-like balloon sculpture] Look. [laughs]
Vanessa: This is what you've been doing for the past forty-five minutes?
Rabbit: Uh-huh. Isn't he cute? I call him Scotty.
[Vanessa pops the balloon with the talons on her fingers and smirks.]
Vanessa: Now you can call him 'garbage'.

Okay, read through everything that was available till now. Found you accidentally via Google, ended up adding you to my watchlist. Here's a short list why.

1. It's not more twitard-ing, which is always good ;)
2. It's fresh - not goth-like vampires, savage werewolves and everything in between with all the rusted labels. They're people. Some have claws, some have wings - but they're still people, not walking legends. And I gotta admit, Quartz and Cal are quite charming in their awkwardness xD
3. I like your art style. It's realistic and the expressions are really good!
4. It's not "ooh, I hate being my species" - whoever created that notion should be staked - yep, another pun.
5. It's funny. Sense of humor is a redeeming trait for me.

So yeah, watchlisted :) Keep up the good work, bro!

:iconwerewolfplz: :iconthanksplz: for the watch and support -  I really appreciate it and I hope you'll enjoy my updates :highfive:

I enjoyed reading your list of reasons for watching me.

1. Yep, not a huge fan of that franchise, although each to their own, I gues.
2. They're people. Some have claws, some have wings - but they're still people. I'm happy that comes across. I wanted to write people, not legends.
3. I'm a fine artist at heart - creating a realistic world of supernatural people was one of the things I wanted to accomplish with Smoke, Fur And Stone. Happy it seems to be working.
4. I've never understood that sentiment personally. Especially in traditional vampires - yes, they are doomed to drink human blood but the pay-off is their top of the food chain and immortal. Nice to meet a fellow punster :)
5. Sometimes humor is all that keeps me sane :D

Keep up the good work, bro!

I definitely will. Have a great day :)
