Today’s Pokemon Go story
As usual I left for work early so I could have time before my shift to stock up on items and maybe take on a gym. I get to the stop outside the coffee shop/ opera house and there’s this kid on the other side of the entryway playing the game. I try to access the stop but the game wasn’t responding (which isn’t unusual but highly annoying). So as I’m rebooting the game (only to find the servers where not letting me in) this little boy, no older than 6 or 7, comes up to me and asks “Are you playing Pokemon Go?”.
I smiled and said “Yes I am.”
“What team are you?”
“I’m Team Mystic.”
“Me too!” He smiled. We bumped fists and then he shows me his finger nails. “I painted my nails blue because I’m Mystic.”
We chat a little bit more, talking about what Pokemon he’s caught (he mispronounced a few, but I didn’t care to correct him). Then he took on the Valor gym that was the Opera House with his CP 100something Venonat and DEFEATS a CP 1000something Snorlax on his own. He claimed the gym for our team in time for me to stick one of my Pidgeot in there once the game finally let me in.
Then he’s like “I love my Venonat. He’s fluffy and my friend.”
Shortly after that his mom came back from the book store and he leaves shouting “Thank you.” as we parted ways.
