Read the nuzlocke here.

With the 5th anniversary coming up next month, I figured it was time for a new cover. Though, I wasn't sure which version to upload so you guys get both.

Alrighty so, I'm not gonna use the critique function because I don't feel what I have to say is a proper critique- however, I know you want advice on it, so I'll do my best to deliver!

So first of all, I love the concept of shattered glass. The image of Elon falling through the barrier as solemn visages of her teammates appear in the fragments, it's a very heart-wrenching concept. I particularly enjoy how the reactions vary from pensive, to sorrowful, to an almost distraught expression of shock. Similarly, i adore how you managed to capture the shattering of glass in a manner that looks incredibly natural, yet remains uniform enough that it draws the eyes into the more important parts. Composition wise, this is incredible well done!

The only thing that I think needs work here is the colours- while I do prefer this variant to the second one, I feel the vibrant colours Elon, the red fragments, and the title more or less fight the somber feeling you were giving off with the motif. This isn't to say the piece should lack colour completely, however, as colour helps to draw the eyes to the more important parts of the cover, but rather I would say going with a much less saturated variant of all the character palettes would help to enforce the solemn nature of the linework. Namely, have Elon be the most vibrant character, yet still much more desaturated as her palette is very "happy"- her colours are very warm and earthy, so toning them down a bit would work wonders when it comes to establishing the tone of the cover. As for the pokemon, I feel a compromise between colour and b/w would be most effective too- a little more leaning on the b/w side of course, as they're not so much in focus as elon is, but still a central part to the picture. I would also recommend a toning down of the red fragments to a desaturated tone- not right down to a pure gray, but a very faint yet noticeable red.
Similarly, while the font is established as the Emerald Skies title font, it looks a little too whimsical in contrast to the visuals. While the colour can be toned down to however neutral it needs to be, the swirly, calligraphic font simply contrasts to much, if I'm being honest. If I were to recommend a change for it, I'd say to opt for a font that works in tandem with the visuals: A clean font with thin lines, to further emphasize the whole motif of fragility and shattering, perhaps? Ultimately the choice to change the font is up to you, so I won't go into too much detail with this aspect.

But yeah, I really enjoy what you were going for with this! Hopefully what I said gives you something to work with hahaha
