Laid flat across the ice,
as if the morning had decided not to explain itself.

The branches remain.
The fog takes their sharpness,
not their form.

Everything is present.
Just not fully revealed.

The cold holds the space together.
And for a moment,
that is enough.

Process

Photographed in dense winter atmosphere.
Exposure balanced to preserve highlight structure within fog.

Atmosphere remained as observed.

Artist’s Comment

This image was about patience.
Waiting until the light softened just enough to dissolve the world without erasing it.

Winter is not dramatic when you stop forcing it to be.
It is quiet.
Measured.
Exact.

I kept it that way.
