Description
Well, Jim went through a few changes too.
Design characters:
-He's a piebald now, though not really a noticeable one. The piebald patches are on his back and around his neck, all of which tend to be covered by clothing or hair.
-He's also tall! At least compared to Professor Ratigan. To most other brown rats, he's more average in size. To a mouse or black rat, he'd seem very tall, he's still very much dwarfed by Sebastian.
-Ah, to still be tweaking how much resemblance Jim has to the Professor.
-He's leaner now. Jim is supposed to be the youngest of the brothers and often travels, whether for art or other things. Giving him a bulky build didn't really work with that idea.
Character changes:
-Honestly, his personality hasn't changed much but there are some... flavors there.
-The whole rat issue. The Professor insists he's a mouse, I have Sebastian going in the full other direction and being very proud about being a rat, so where does Jim fall into this? Well... he doesn't care. It's not out of having a lack of pride in being a rat or being in denial. When it comes down to it, Jim more or less just doesn't pay attention to it. He's always been a rat, but he's not going to go on announcing it like it's a medal. He might get looks from some mice who think him suspicious, but sometimes that's what he needs when doing a job.
-Insecurity. Jim is bright, after all, he did grow up surrounded by intelligent people and was very educated, but that kind of also gives him a sense of insecurity when comparing himself to others around him. And while he doesn't care about the whole 'being a rat' topic, he DOES care about how odd his appearance is. Piebaldism aside, he clearly got a bit of being a chimera going on and it's a very recognizable feature that he can't hide.
-Less to do with Jim and more just the Ratigan family overall, and it's to do with obsession. I might go on into this at a later date, but each of the Ratigans has sort of a problem with obsession and it's not just the brothers that have to deal with this.
Overall, Jim's a bit more fleshed out, but design changes aside, not much really has changed. He's still the charismatic, flirty, criminal artist with both a theft and forging issue that somehow ends up with Helena.
...
And a few lovers. And by few, I mean it's more impressive that he only ends up with two kids.
