What is it with goddesses associated with some sort of plant that inspires abductions? This isn't any foreshadowing or the like; it is an actual observation. Believe it or not, the Greeks weren't the only ones to have a myth about some innocent-looking goddess being kidnapped. No, they just got the most popular one. The Norse had Idun, who had the apples, and depending on what version you're looking at, the Aztecs had Xōchiquetzal, whose name could be translated as "flower precious feather."

It's sort of fascinating when you find myths that are from different places but have very similar parts to them.
