So zacthetoad and I were musing on the state of the dA emoticon legend, when it occurred to us that we could as a community pool our knowledge and come up with replacements for some of the many, many lame emotes on the legend.

We're going to talk changes and new additions later (see zac's journal for more on that), but for now we're just getting the ball rolling by underscoring the breadth of brilliant emoticons already available right here.

What follow are my suggestions for replacements, with the original on the left, and the new thumb and its author on the right.  Keep in mind the dark shadow behind the thumbs would naturally not be there should be they be uploaded.

I realize some of my picks deviate somewhat from the norm dA has established.  I don't much care, for instance, if they take up more space than is traditional on the legend.  I didn't go nuts or nuthin' (and believe me I could have considering what an avid Unmentionables fangirl I am), but there are pieces with a notably increased height and width.

Edit: I've bumped the New Remakes section up so they're easier to find, since all y'all are probably sick of scrolling.  These have all been made over the past day since zac and I posted our journals.  Amazing community we have here, innit?
