Its been a while since Ive put up a T. rex on here. This is the boy I made for The Isle. Hopefully soon I'll have a nice one of the new Saurian rex cus you can never have too many tyrannosaurs. :)
Check out the ArtStation project for more pictures and the marmoset viewer to get a 3D look at the model.

Still don't know why some people say this is inaccurate. Not one inaccuracy. It's about as spot-on as it can be, (given the uncertainties).

I think that a design like this would work quite well in a mainstream movie. Superficially it has the Jurassic Park aesthetic that audiences are instantly familiar with, but the underlying anatomy is more on the contemporary side. It's a neat balance.

Can you make a Hyperendocrin Tyrannosaurus Rex on there?

How come The Isle has an accurate Tyrannosaurus model XD

to be honest the only none accurate dinosaurs so far are the Velociraptor and Utahraptor
everything else seems pretty dead on actually

I see this rex has a circular pupil; any idea why they went with the amber-coloured slit eye? Personally I think the round eye is much nicer.

This is one of the most gorgeous and well made T. rex models that I have ever seen

If I remember correctly, Saurian's rex is based on Stan. Is The Isle's rex based on a different specimen, like Sue perhaps?

think it is
is sue the tyrannosaurus that is 43ft long?
DOTB18's avatar
No, Sue's 40ft, but she is the biggest rex on record.

Celeste is the biggest

never heard of Celeste before
DOTB18's avatar
Celeste is only known from a single toe bone. Kind of hard to gauge size from just that.

really?
i heard there was one that was 43ft, maybe it was an estimated max size, like if sue DID live longer
and i am not fully certain on this or not but i remember hearing sue isn't the largest, she is just he most complete, again not sure how true that is as i heard it on facebook
Majestic-Colossus's avatar
I don't know much about T.rex specimens, but I can assure Sue isn't 43ft. I've heard Sue was relatively old for a T.rex, so probably fully grown. However, I never double-checked that info, so take it with a grain of salt.

just looked it up, it was Trix the Tyrannosaurus who is 43ft

No, Trix is also just around 12 m long, which is just under 40 ft.
There are no know T.rex specimens conclusively shown to be over 40 ft long.

I really like the closer look of skin details, those neck wrinkles! Good colors too.

Very cool work, the texture and overall feel is so very authentic! I really hope someday you'll create a classic fantasy dragon, something like this maybe i.imgur.com/XTCaMSd.png
