Still more "commercial" work. For like the sixth or seventh time, I've painted a new cover for my "Beneath the Lanterns" book. My most recent one was a generic night scene, so this at least is an attempt to do a scene out of the story. I'll post the finished cover as well.
One thing about doing these covers is that I find that I still don't find paining fun. I get the feeling that I've done this all before. Though I wish I could rekindle the fun I had painting before, I'm not there yet. But I just finished the first draft of another new novel, so it's not like I'm no longer creating. It's just with words these days. Stay tuned for the next commercial work -- it's cover. I'm rather dreading that.
wonderful light and atmosphere, also like the outlined cover version. There is always more than just one way to paint things :)
Don't think too much about not painting much anymore. Creativity chances over the years... at least that is my experience. Do what makes you happy and follow your inner voice.
Thank you for taking the time to comment, once again. I do miss the fun I had painting, but, it has been a good year for writing, which I enjoy just as much. I'm using my time creatively. Can't complain.
