Dolls are not clip art folks. Nope, sorry kids.

In light of some blatant Silindor art theft, I have updated my terms of use page. Seeing as DA is very similar to my website in distributing my work, I thought I would make some things clear on here too in the friendliest and thoroughest manner I can. ;)

Everyone who doesn't have a journal entry for their terms of use ought to think about creating one just to reduce any confusion about what dolling really is all about.

All dolls and bases created by me are copyrighted. I hereby claim that my dolls are NOT in the public domain.

You may adopt a doll only if labled "adoptable". What does "adoptable" mean? This means I, Lithriel, hereby give you limited rights to display the doll "as is" with a proper link crediting RIGHT next to the doll or by linking the image directly to What does "not adoptable" mean? It means I, the creator of the doll, do not give you permission to redistribute my doll in any fashion. IF YOU CHANGE AN ADOPTABLE DOLL IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM (this INCLUDES making the doll a blinkie) or if you adopt a doll that is NOT labeled adoptable , YOU ARE VIOLATING COPYRIGHT LAWS and if caught you ARE liable to be sued and/or prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Do not use ANY of my dolls (even if labeled adoptable) in your layouts, blends, or graphics, display them as avatars or in signatures in forums, collect them in your photobucket account, or in any way not designated here in the terms of use. If you cannot put the link to my website right next to my doll, then do not adopt it. Saving an unadoptable Silindor doll to your photobucket account is redistributing copyrighted artwork which is not in the public domain and therefore IS violating copyright law.

Using My Bases

I allow people to use my bases for the creation of dolls. They are not to be used like stock photography in your artwork or blends. They are NOT to be redistributed online (with one exception listed below). When displaying dolls done on my bases provide a link back to (you can link to my DA too). I allow all edits on my bases for the purpose of creating dolls. I also allow my bases to be used in layouts provided they have been altered to create a doll. I also allow people who have retired bases to continue to use them. Do not redistribute my bases unless Silindor is no longer online- this includes giving retired bases to someone who wants them. Also please do not use our bases in dollmakers. You MAY use the color pallettes from our bases in your own work in whatever fashion you please.

When using one of my bases you do not need to email me for permission, just provide a link back.

Dollers ONLY, if you want to give me a Site of the Month, doll of the month, base of the moment, anything of the whatever award, first off thank you very much XD, you may alter my dolls or bases for the purpose of creating an award image to be placed on your website with proper credit and linkage.  This is the only exception I have to having my work altered.

DA usage

You may favorite my dolls, adoptable or not adoptable, my bases, and all my other artwork as this merely links back here and is not redistributing.  ;) You may also use the thumb feature anywhere on DA to link back to any work I have on here.

All other Artwork

Do not touch any of my other artwork without my permission.

Thank you very much for reading. :D If you would like to use this as reference/template for making your own terms of use page you may. Just stick your own information in there. ;D

So, I made a doll on one of your bases---> [link]

Currently I'm creating my own website, and that doll is one I consider one of my best. From what I understand in this journal, as long as I provide a link back to your DA or Site, I can use my doll with your base?

Yes, you may. You can post it an do whatever you want with it provided you aren't making real money off of it. XD

No xD It's just going to be the doll I have on the front page of my pixel gallery where I write the description of my gallery. I already put a link on the image, and I'll show you the page when it's done for your confirmation if you'd like x:
