Literature Text
Extraterrestrials sent warnings.
We saw comets.
Literature
Drowned In Gold
Imagine a sad survivor
as they look out on the remnants
of a derelict. All fallen
to ruin, sunken, and drowned. Nothing
remains, nothing at all remains.
We had everything, or we thought
we did. The future was a bright
dream, but we saw the shadows take
form here and there. We pointed, laughed,
they were phantoms of a future
yet grasped. If only what, greed ruled.
It was a bright and new age, one
where the past was some backwater
without wisdom. What is a tale
of cautionary affairs, when
the crowds are lost in sweet nectar
not even dreamed by gods?! The cries
heard then were echoes on the wind
lobbed by fanciful hearts. Nothing
could have been done differently.
See, we all blossomed into true
and free individuals. Daft
notions of the self, but we lost.
We lost so much. We lost our heart
and soul, lost our community,
our power. Greed ruled, but worst pride
took hold, we actually thought
our lack of bonds was a strength! Fools.
Evil did not materialize
overnight unknown to us

Persons and Opinions
“Persons and Opinions”
True or false.
“Everybody is a critic and people always have opinions.”
Is this statement correct?
Well, let’s see…
Everybody is a critic.
People always have opinions.
Both of these sentences make up 2 claims.
The 1st claim is,
“Everybody is a critic.”
The 2nd claim is,
“People always have opinions.”
Are these claims correct?
Well, we should look at a book from a famous critic to find out.
I know a book with the name The Round Table, for the year 1817.
The Round Table was a book with professional, literary criticism.
Let us turn the page and find an essay with the name,
“On Common-Place Critics”
The essay is called “On Common-Place Critics”.
The essay was written by a famous critic named William Hazlitt.
He was writing an essay about most people and most critics.
“Commonplace” is really a word that means “most if not everybody”.
He was talking about most people.
He was talking about most critics.
So, who are most critics?
Who are most
Literature
You Will Want To See It Too
Harken the image of the self, for only it can be as honest as we are willing to face
Something follows us, we can never escape it, the shadow falling from our feet
Without the measure of time, and our ever-changing self-image, we forget to grow
Sometimes alone we think of our loneliness, our strife, yet it seems no one else does
Fear of our mind going absent, fear of aging into senility, never to remember the past
Fear is something we need to survive, to avoid mishap or danger
Please be kind to the one person who truly understands you - yourself.

Written for the @CRLiterature Tiny Tales of Terror Challenge.
Wouldn't it be something if we had been getting messages from distant beings in the universe but simply hadn't realized it (or thought it was some other natural or weird event)?
Even creepier, though, would be if they were trying to warn us about something.
