Welp I've been keeping this quiet until I was sure there wasn't another hurricaine coming my way. But now I'm pretty sure its safe.

I'm going to be tabling at San Japan this Labor Day weekend in San Antonio.  I'll be at table F104 - so if you're in the area feel free to drop by and say hello. I'll be the sleep deprived red head in hte bowler hat.

Welp, it took a record breaking hurricane but I finally had to break my attendance streak for San Japan.

My chunk of Houston was lucky, so very lucky and blessed and we had minimal issues. But things are still a mess around here.

The roads out of town were underwater. The highway I live off of, was flooded, people were boating on it. Another bit of highway, the flood waters moved the cement barriers all over the lanes.

At the time I was intending to head out, a lot of the roads were still uncertain. And my little car, even though it is named after a fish man, is not the best in high waters. I've been stranded before in normal conditions, I didn't want to try to see what being stranded would be like in disaster fallout conditions. Especially since I would be traveling alone.

A few other reasons, such as the artist I was tabling with got flooded out, my print stock is somewhere lost in transit. Also I feel I need to be here.

I hope everyone who went has fun and stays safe. I'll see y'all next year.

If anyone was curious about the digital programs and hardware I use to work on the art you see on this page you are in luck!

I've got a short write up of my digital tools posted on my Art Blog - I'll probably try to tackle traditional media at a later date.

If anyone has any questions about specific pieces and techniques feel free to drop me a line.

Just a heads up for anyone whose going to be in the San Antonio area this weekend (September 2nd-4th) I will be in the Artist Alley.

I'll be there under the name Foolish Mortal selling prints, commissions, and rambling random anecdotes to anyone who stands still long enough. So feel free to drop by and say hi.

As usual I still do trades for throwback Dr Pepper.

A few folks have suggested I try setting up a Patreon page and after kicking it around for a while I finally got it set up.

So if you like what you see on here, and want to support this I now have a Patreon Page. Art posts on there will be more frequent and up to date than on here. Subscribers get perks like art mailed to them, hi res line arts, behind the scenes sketches on a couple larger projects I'm working on.

Decided to concede to holiday tradition and post stuff for Cyber Weekend.

I've added some things to the etsy store some hand mirrors, zipper bags, a couple original paintings.

I also added the sketchzine project from earlier this year on there, for no extra charge if you want I will sign and add a sketch of your request in it.

I have had a really bad week, and a crazy month or so. But I have survived and will be at San Japan this weekend in San Antonio. So anyone in the area feel free to drop by and say hello. I'll be at table A7, selling prints, commissions, buttons, and other hand crafted things so look for the red head in the bowler hat.

Just a heads up I will be on the road again this weekend. I will be at San Japan in San Antonio. So if you are in the area come on by and say hi. (The useful map above shows where in the Artist Alley I am.) I’ll either be the red head in a bowler hat or lots of purple (I’ll be cosplaying Fem!Cecil Palmer).

If anyone has any throwback Dr Pepper on their hands to get rid of I will gladly trade commissions for sugar Dr Pepper.

ALSO - discount on commissions and sales if you can guess which artist has a birthday this weekend. (Hint: she has red hair and a bowler hat)

Hah - I almost forgot to post this.

I will be at A-Kon in Dallas this weekend. I'm sharing with my buddies Darcontiar and Itsatiepoproductions. I'm the red head in the bowler hat - or the red head covered in ink drawings and wearing lots of purple. One of those. So feel free to drop by and say hi, we don't bite unless you ask us very nicely.  We are open for commissions, we have prints to sell, buttons and other odds and ends and wonderments.

Hope to see you there!

Just a heads up - I forgot to mention I'm in the Artist Alley at Comicpalooza this weekend in Houston. So if you are in the area fee free to drop by and say hi. I'll be selling prints and buttons and will be available for commissions or just random geeky chatter.

I'm in the 1200 row - look for the banner with the flying bowler hat. I'll be the red head in various degrees of purple and tacky. Or wearing a bowler hat. That doesn't fly.

As usual I keep forgetting to update this thing. But I've got lots to talk about right now to make up for lost time.

First off - something I've been working towards for a long time and am very excited about. I've joined the group of artisans at Sun Moon and Stars Creations and am selling a series of prints exclusively through them. I've been informed that I will be doing occasional blog posts on there when they can catch me to type something. I've been working on stuff for this for months and am so glad to be able to talk about it.

Next - I finally got off my butt and rebuilt my personal website from scratch. I've still got a few things to sort out for it but for the most part it's working and doesn't start falling apart at the drop of the bowler hat like the old one did. At least I hope it doesn't.

I also got around to updating the Redbubble account. So if you wanted a copy of the Game of Thronies or an Oversized Bomb on a t-shirt here is your chance. I'll add more pieces to the shop as I get around to it. So keep an eye out for new stuff on there.

This isn't new but I feel like repeating -I have an art page on Facebook for those of you into the social media thing. I'll be posting drawings, sketches, and convention schedules on there.

Heya - I'm really bad at updating this thing. I always have lots to do and feel like I've got little to say.

Anyways - this summer is wrapping up and my convention season is close to ending. I'm down to two more cons this month and I finally sleep in my own bed and eat things besides beef jerky and granola bars.

I will be sharing a table with friends this weekend at San Japan in San Antonio. So anyone in the area come by and say hi. Enclosed is a handy map and visual guide of where I will be and a realistic depiction of what I look like.

I'll be sharing a table with Sam and Cyndi. Sam can needlefelt you damn near anything and Cyndi can draw anything you want as a pony or a not pony. I'll be the twitchy red head in the bowler hat selling prints, buttons, and commissions.

Also in case I forget; all three of us will be at Anime Fest in Dallas on Labor Day Weekend. I'll be the half dead red head in the bowler hat.

And for those of you who aren't able to poke me with a stick and buy stuff off me at conventions I did recently open up a Redbubble shop. There isn't a lot on it right now but I'm slowly adding to it when I get the chance and time to.

Just a heads up to say I will be at A-Kon in Dallas this weekend.

I'll be in the Artist Alley - with prints, buttons and post cards to sell. This is also a golden opportunity to get a commission in.

So if you are in the Dallas/Ft Worth area come on by and say hello. Look for the banner with the flying bowler hat on it.

Just a heads up - I will be at Comicpalooza in Houston this weekend.

I'll be in the Artist Alley selling prints, buttons, post cards and taking commissions. I'll be the red head in the bowler hat, if you can't see that look for the banner with the flying bowler on it. (We did finally get a banner for the table that I don't hate completely.)

So if you are in the Houston Texas area and like comics, steampunk bands and other geekery come by. It should be a fun weekend.

Just a heads up to say that I will be at Aggie con this weekend. So if anyone is in the Bryan College Station area drop by to say hi. I'll be there to do commissions and I have prints and buttons for sale.

Also for all you Game of Thrones fans George R.R. Martin will be there. So come to the con and see him (just don't please no one mention the Game of Thronies to him) then if oyu have time look for me in the Dealer's Room. I'll be the red head in the bowler hat, with the banner advertising snake oil.

Back from San Japan. Had a great time and met lots of awesome people.

Also probably acted like an idiot in front of other people, something about conventions always has me acting like a gibbering idiot by Sunday afternoon. So for those who met me on Sunday, I'm sorry I am fairly well educated and can talk like a normal person I swear.

While doing the "stuff I drew at the table" post I discovered a large stash of ATC scans that I hadn't posted. Hence the rush of cards.

HEADS UP -

At A-Kon if you were the gentleman who ordered a dozen Alice in Wonderland buttons from me, could you please contact me, I seem to have lost contact info for you.
The buttons are finished I just need an address to send them to.

Convention season so far as been very successful. I've got one more in August, more information on that later.

Right I've been busy working on commissions (if you commissioned me or discussed such work at A-Kon I'm still working on them, I have not forgotten you.), and work and trying to get things lined up to move. So I haven't had time to do any large pieces recently.

So as per usual to prove I'm not dead I've posted a batch of sketches and doodles in the Scrapbook section.

Convention Season shambles onwards.

This week's con is A-Kon 23 in Dallas.  So if you're going to be in the Dallas area feel free to say hi. The Foolish Mortal table (which consists of me, and my apprentice who works under her own name and a minion) will be upstairs next to the Dealers Room. So look for the sleep deprived red head in the bowler hat.

So Convention Season is upon us yet again.

At least convention season is upon ME, I have no idea what season it is for other folks. Allergy Season? Baseball season?

But it is definitely the time of year I start running around in circles, writing lists, making buttons, and printing everything I can - trying to make art work ideas suck less and lament the fact I draw weird crap instead of marketable yaoi boys or something.

Anyways that said, the first convention of the season for me is AggieCon 43 - in College Station, Texas. So if you find yourself in Aggie-land the weekend of March the 23rd feel free to drop by and say hi. I'll be there with prints, jewelry, buttons, ATCs and can be paid to draw whatever your heart desires (well ALMOST anything).  I'll also be throwing some original paintings in the Art Show so if you want to own some original watercolor art this could be your chance.

Oh yes - also in other news Foolish Mortal (my studio handle) has a Facebook page of its very own. So feel free to pop on over there. I post sketches, Works in Progress and such ages before they'll hit the dev art gallery.

I'll also probably do announcements of sales, deals, request nights, and other stuff on there once I get my personal life into some sort of order again.
