Late Night Train by lissa-quon Late Night Train by lissa-quon
Recently got accepted into a Monster themed art show. Wasn't too sure what to do until my friend reminded me of my obsession with Yoshitoshi's 36 Ghosts series. With that as a lose jumping off point I started playing with concepts from various Japanese yokai.

This one is based loosely on rokurokubi which was a woman who seemed normal until night fall and then her neck would stretch out, often to attack small animals, horrify others or to drink lamp oil. I decided to play with this concept but move it to a more modern setting so she gets to ride the night train and peep on other passenger's reading material.

The original is 12x9 watercolor and ink and will be part of Insomnia's monster show this Hallowen.

Prints and such are available on Redbubble. and Society6.
