Drawn for Perspective 2 of first year 2D animation classes. I saw a lot of fan art amongst projects that the teacher showed us in example, and this project of low-angle/high angle perspective begged for something epic! What more epic than a courageous young man fighting giant colossi alone with his loyal horse?
Shadow of the Colossus is one of the greatest games I've ever played. It means a lot to me, and I'm glad I could draw an hommage to a game I love so much. I created the colossus from scratch, using bits of abandonned designs for the game to unify my design a little bit with others from the game. Location is also completely random and thought by me, inspired by the grand architecture you see throughout gameplay.
Agro was fun to draw. A few mistakes in horse anatomy, but it came like you see it now in a matter of seconds, and somehow I couldn't bring myself to change it's face, I liked it too much!
I chose low-angle shot (pretty evident
), construction drawn on vellum 11x17 paper, rendered in ink on regular 11x17 paper with (wonderful!) Copic Multiliners SP (the uber awesome metallic ones, little wonders!)
Will be updated with a color version in a short time.
