Not Dead!

Thu Apr 21, 2016, 2:07 AM
Yeah it's been a bit. I'm not dead, but my rabbit is. It kind of killed my mood. I've started doodling again, though (as you can see by the snails), so I should be back on a little more regularly.

If you would like a simple pic like one of these, please note me. They're $5 apiece!

My right shoulder, so I can't draw. I can only type from a few positions. I'll be going to a doctor on monday if it's not better, but I can't even wipe my ass without 8/10 shooting-burning pain down my arm.

To those I owe commissions, I can refund you since I don't know how long it will take to get better.

To everyone else, well-wishes are really fekking appreciated. This hurts, and this sucks.

UPDATE

Seeing doctor tomorrow, my insurance card arrived. I hate to ebeg but I'm gonna, cause normally I'm supplimentary income and I can't be while this is healing (or not, we'll see). If you guys, like even three of you, could throw five bucks at me, that would help out a ton.

UPDATE

I got muscle relaxers to help, but it ko'd me for 16 hours. It'll get better but it's still pretty bad. Also my rabbit got his eye scratched by a cat, so now we have to take him to the vet to get it looked at. We're pretty much broke at the moment so again, any money y'all can throw at us would be super kush.

UPDATE
My chiro did some manipulation, the relaxers are helping, but the minor joint is still out and it's grinding/burning/popping. I still cannot do just about anything for risk of causing permanent damage.
My rabbit's eye is looking much better, but we still spent money on him we don't have, so if anyone can donate, that would be great.

Hey all I'm doing emergency 'I Fucked Up And Now The Bank Account Is Overdrawn And I Don't Want My Girlfriend Mad At Me' commissions. If you're interested, I'll do 2 hours of work for $20, so that's about a flat-color full-body any-content pic. [/spam]
Just what it says, commissions are open! Why, you might wonder, am I announcing this all of a sudden? Well the car got fixed and we need a little extra money to pay it off so my girlfriend doesn't have to walk a mile to and from work all week. So I'm running a deal!
If you order a commission worth more than $20, you get a bonus sketch. More than $40 and you get a bonus lineart. More than $80 and you get a bonus flat colored picture!
All will be run through Square.com so we actually have access to the funds (unlike PayPal).
All subject matter is open, all pictures are completed at print-size and print-quality. Just Note me here, email me at lionsilverwolf@gmail.com or contact me on Skype at LionSilverWolf with what you'd like to get done and your budget for it and we'll see what happens :)

Edit: We got the car back, but commissions are still open and the deal is still on!

Advertising

Registered teams who advertise the event in some way get a 5 point bonus to the Qualifying Round.
Comment with a link to a deviation, journal, or poll you posted advertising the event. This offer is valid until May 20.

How Much Work?

After you’re all nice and registered, you start on your Qualifying Round image. This is your team against dummies, simply show your team running down the track towards a straw or wooden dummy. The top 8 (eight) in the Qualifying Round will move on to the Joust Tournament. After that it’s simple elimination!
This means you do your Qualifying Round picture, then your 1st Round, then Semi-Finals, and then Finals. The maximum number of images you’ll be required to do for the Tournament is 4 (four) pictures.

Rules

  • A 'Round' begins on Monday at 1pm EST and ends two weeks later on Monday at 1am EST
  • At the beginning of each Round a journal will be posted/updated with which team will be facing whom for that Round.
  • Each competitor has one Round to complete their image, failure to do so results in automatic loss. This rule is enforced 100%, no leniency.
  • Each Round will have one or more elements that must be adhered to, such as the weather or a dehorsing.
  • In the event of a dropout, the WTS team will fill in the slot but will not be competing (all their scores will be RNG and they cannot move on)
  • Each image counts as gift art to the opponent.
  • Horses, riders, lances and armor should stay on-model and in scale, images will be penalized for failure to do so.
  • At least ⅔ of both horses and riders must be in every image.
  • Make certain that the strike plate is always on the rider's left shoulder.
  • Each joust will be drawn twice, once by each competitor.
  • Reference images are allowed only when credited, tracing is only allowed on official Summer Joust supplied references.
  • Images will be judged on quality compared to opponent's image.
Winner of each joust will be determined by the following and more:
:bulletblue: Adherence to the Round elements.
:bulletblue: Quality of coloring/shading.
:bulletblue: Quality of perspective/proportions.
:bulletblue: Action box

About the Action Box: It is an inset box (think like a comic book) where, for extra points, you zoom in on some Round element. Must be a new picture and not simply a zoomed in crop of the joust entry.

Information of Interest

Information that does not fit easily anywhere else will go here
At the end of the event the winner of the tournament will be crowned Grand Champion. The team with the most points overall will be the Reserve Champion. The team with the best story (told through pictures, or writing, or the crazy turn of events in the show) will be Judge’s Choice.
Send the registration note first, after that the entry fee, both of which must be done before the Qualifying Round.
References for the joust count as references for group point counting. Art drawn by your opponent during the joust counts as gift art for group point counting. Training for the joust counts as a training picture for group point counting. Art drawn by you of your horse counts as show art for group point counting.
Team colors will only be granted to those who make it to the Tournament, the Qualifying Round may be in any colors you wish.
:new: The Qualifying Round image is due BEFORE the first round of the tournament, which is currently set to start June 2

CURRENTLY DONE
Sorry EVERYONE but my hard drive has failed so my computer is currently in the shop. There is nothing I can do about anything right now, no other computer I have access to has my art programs or anything. I do not need extra money to get it fixed, it's just a matter of whether or not anything that was on my drive is recoverable or not.
My girlfriend has gotten me some coloring books, though, so I will not be entirely without the ability to make silly and/or pretty things in the meanwhile. I will be without the ability to scan anything, however, as the printer does not like her laptop and would only network with my computer.

Update: I have lost all of my files, my hard drive is a paperweight. I get my computer back today, and thankfully had a spare drive I can run off of now, but I have lost all my WIP files and programs and everything.
Ah well.

Update: Re-acquiring all of my programs now. I should be up and running in a few days.

WTS Birthday Party - HARPG Event

Journal Entry: Sat Jul 6, 2013, 3:17 PM
My birthday is at the end of the month, and one month after that is the anniversary of WolfsTailStables so for the next two months I'll be running an event!

What event? A fun event! A big birthday bash!
What kind of fun? Any kind! The pastures will be open to all horses to play in, the woods and their trails will be available for rides, sprinklers and wading pools will be set up to help everyone keep cool in the hot summer sun.
What should I do to participate? Just draw a picture of your horse on WTS grounds doing something that seems fun! Splashing in a pool, pond, or creek. Rolling in the pasture. Running the track. Walking the trail. Playing with WTS horses. Anything you can think of!
Well that doesn't seem very birthdayish? That's right it doesn't. That's why every horse participating MUST be wearing a silly party hat! Additionally, horse-friendly cakes will be scattered about the grounds for you to discover.
When does the party end? The party ends August 31st, the winners will be announced and given their prize within a week.
Can I bring other animals? Yes, you can bring any other animal normally with your horses, but they also must have a party hat on!
How will this be scored?
  • 5 points for coloring
  • 5 points for shading
  • 5-10 points for each WTS horse included
  • 5 points for cake!
  • 0-20 points for creativity
So if you enter a colored, shaded picture of your horse and two WTS horses nomming on some cake you'll get between 25 and 55 points!

Partiers

Breeding and Leasing are Open

Journal Entry: Sat Jul 6, 2013, 11:53 AM
Yes, breeding and leasing of WTS horses has been opened, but only for select animals. For the list of animals available, and the rules regarding both, check out the journal here.

2013 WTS Summer Joust Lineup - Round 3 by lionsilverwolf
Well it's begun, the Summer Joust has started. The weather is not ideal, but everyone's geared up and ready to go! There's fewer participants this year but they seem more dedicated than ever, with almost every pair bringing custom armor to the tournament. This level of willpower will be hard to beat, so good luck to each of the teams in trying!
Round Start Date - June 15th 2013; 2pm EST
Round End Date - June 29th 2013; 3pm EST

Overall Conditions
Weather - The sun is shining brightly
Joust Run - The ground is dried out entirely to the point that dust is being kicked up

Bracket 1

The Final Charge by PrimalInstincts  WTS Joust Final by Revolver-Waffle
Round Action: Rocky Mountain Way's nerves must be getting to him because he preemptively starts, leading to Thomas Marks getting his lance seated before Sean Aden is ready. Sean Aden hits the floor as a result.

The championship is afoot and the round is full of lightning armor and thunderous hooves!

Round Start Date - May 31st 2013; 9pm EST
Round End Date - June 14th 2013; 10pm EST

Overall Conditions
Weather - The skies have cleared, the rain a distant memory of the morning. In fact, the sun now shines almost blindingly bright!
Joust Run - The ground is steaming slightly as it dries out, but the mud is gone leaving simply soft earth.

Bracket 1
FFS Richard Leos on Crusade of Charlemagne sta.sh/01sz7hzm7pya   VS  RF Sean Aden on Rocky Mountain Way fav.me/d617z7r
Round Action: The sun must be a little too bright for the horses, because the start of the round has then both stalling at the start line. Crusade of Charlemagne in particular seems affected, shying away from the divider just before the lances would strike!
Round 3 by bovidaeloony  WTS Joust Round 3 by Revolver-Waffle

Bracket 2
AQS Will Grihm on Humanity's Mendip Blagdon sta.sh/025rjs8kwyy5 VS  BMEC Ada on Those Ringing Belles fav.me/d60an38
Round Action: brok lance 2; dehorse 2 The second round starts off neatly, both riders striking square with Ada's lance shattering and Will Grihm's snatching her right off of Those Ringing Belles! Somehow in the commotion, Will Grihm suffers a scrape to his arm from flying lance pieces.

Seems like the sunlight is causing just as many problems as the rain did!

There's fewer participants this year but they seem more dedicated than ever, with almost every pair bringing custom armor to the tournament. This level of willpower will be hard to beat, so good luck to each of the teams in trying!
Round Start Date - May 17th 2013; 8pm EST
Round End Date - May 31st 2013; 7pm EST

Overall Conditions
Weather - The clouds let their downpour out as soon as round 1 was over, pulling back into a light, misting rain and fog.
Joust Run - The mud got too severe after the first run, so it's been covered with sand and hay, leaving it a bit soggy but surer footing.

Bracket 1
RMS Thomas Marks on Fuqin Jingshen fav.me/d644ukv  VS  RF Sean Aden on Rocky Mountain Way fav.me/d617z7r
Round two, On with the show! by PrimalInstincts  WTS Joust Round 2 by Revolver-Waffle
Round Action: To prove the soundness of the field, Fuqin Jingshen and Rocky Mountain Way both took off at top speed, barely giving Thomas Marks and Sean Aden time to get into position. Both lances hit, Sean Aden's shattering off Thomas Marks just a moment before his opponent's lance strikes him right off Rocky Mountain Way.

Bracket 2
AQS Will Grihm on Humanity's Mendip Blagdon sta.sh/025rjs8kwyy5  VS  HSS Deana Traver on Fata Morgana fav.me/d63cujw
:thumb374004457:  WTS Summer Joust Round 2 Bracket 2 Panels by Seri-goyle
Round Action: As if to prove themselves mightier than the previous bracket, Mendip Blagdon and Fata Morgana hit top speed right off the starting line. Their riders are a little more prepared for it, however, and line up just right to both be knocked to the soggy ground! Will Grihm, displaying incredible levels of ill-luck, gets caught on the railing and scrapes his leg.

Bracket 3
TWE Lord Aulay on Phantom Of The Night fav.me/d6161ox  VS  WFK Corentin Bordelon on Tuuli fav.me/d5zx8f2
Round Action: This pair of teams has nothing to prove and that's obvious from their calculated run down the field, Corentin Bordelon scoring a lance-shattering hit off of Lord Aulay. Despite caution, however, accidents happen, and Corentin Bordelon suffers a shrapnel hit to his torso that requires a few stitches to patch up.

I'm sure glad that rain let up, no one wants to be running in full metal armor down an open field in a thunderstorm!

Joust Run - The ground is a bit muddy, be careful with your footing!

Bracket 1
RMS Thomas Marks on Fuqin Jingshen fav.me/d644ukv  VS  WFK Corentin Bordelon on Tuuli fav.me/d5zx8f2
Round Action: Tuuli stalls, throwing off timing for Corentin Bordelon and resulting in a sound dehorsing by Thomas Marks  Tuuli is injured by the shattered lance, requiring a light bandage on her shoulder.
Storming Comeback by PrimalInstincts  JoustWIP by DimensionKennels

Bracket 2
RF Sean Aden on Rocky Mountain Way fav.me/d617z7r  VS  BMEC Ada on Those Ringing Belles sta.sh/01j5fh35buis
Round Action: Those Ringing Belles stalls just long enough for Rocky Mountain Way to pick up a good head of steam, allowing Sean Aden to strike a solid blow on Ada, shattering his lance.

Bracket 3
AQS Will Grihm on Humanity's Mendip Blagdon sta.sh/025rjs8kwyy5  VS  WRR S'phoj on That Most Grand fav.me/d5zw0p8
Round Action: Will Grihm meets mud as S'phoj's lance takes him right off of Humanity's Mendip Blagdon. The mud disagrees with this ungraceful introduction and Will Grihm finds himself in need of a bandaged arm.
