As the title suggests, this news article’s goal is to spread the dA love into everyone’s heart! You will find here a little bit of everything, from awesome interviews with talented artists, art features, group promotion to random deviants' features. I hope you will find this informative and entertaining!

Interviewed artist: jjpeabody :iconjjpeabody:

:bulletyellow: Tell us what defines you as a person.

I use creativity in my everyday life to adapt and overcome obstacles that I face. I believe this defines me as a person as I apply this in almost every situation that I encounter.

:bulletyellow: How did you find out about deviantART and why did you join the community?

I found dA by simply browsing the web one day. I joined so I could leave comments because many of the artworks are just simply outstanding. I began by posting some still life's digital paintings that I was working on. At the time, these digital paintings were really my transition from traditional oil-painting into the world of digital art.

:bulletyellow: When and how did you discover your passion for art?

I was young when I first discovered my passion. I always sketched, but it seemed like I could never get things right or get the art out of me. I also dabbled in various mediums, trying to find what suites me the best. I tried sketching, oil pastel, colored pencils, sculpting, etc. It wasn't until I took an oil painting class in college that I became aware of the potential that I had and a medium that I was actually good at. So I continued on with that for a few years after college. I enjoyed it, but it still wasn't quite me. The medium still didn't allow me to freely create, was messy, expensive, and I was only able to capture what already existed in front of me. I wasn't able to break through the wall of creating things that don't exist.

:bulletyellow: What inspires you the most and when do you think your creativity is at its maximum?

Seeing awesome art. I really get inspired by other artists and what they're able to achieve. I'm like a kid with a new toy as I experiment with the various styles trying to adapt it to my own. My creativity is usually at its max in the morning. When I'm tired in the evenings after working all day, I find that my creative juices are all tapped out. Instead of forcing the creativity, I focus more on doing studies as it doesn't take too much concentration or creativity.

:bulletyellow: What do you think you'd be doing if you hadn't chosen this path?

I actually haven't chosen the path of a professional artist. Am I heading that way? I have no idea. Right now, I'm a professional software engineer. Ironically, they're very similar to me. They both require creativity, problem solving, thinking abstractly, and even long hours. However, I have been noticing a change in myself as my free time that was once occupied with creating applications, it's now occupied with creating art. What's next for me I don't know. I'm driven by an unseen force to just get better with my art. I really don't have any professional goals, just personal goals. The biggest difference between the two careers is that I'm able to finish paintings while applications seem to linger on and on.

:bulletyellow: What do you think it's your most meaningful deviation and what makes it special? Does it have a story behind it?

I would have to say that Garden Stairs is perhaps the most meaningful deviation. I was working on it when I was contacted by someone on DA who is going through some hard times in their life. They wanted to purchase one of my paintings as a gift. I shared the WIP of this painting with them and they instantly fell in love with it. So I finished the painting for them and made it available for prints. The painting is meaningful to me simply because they found meaning in it.

:bulletyellow: Do you have any insecurities regarding your art?

Yep. It's never good enough to me. Art that I'm content with one day I look at weeks later and I cringe. My insecurity is that I don't think I'll ever be as good as I want to be.

:bulletyellow: Did art ever helped you to deal with your life problems?

Interesting question. Just recently I realized that that life needs as much contrast in it as my art does. Too much of any one thing is bad; there's no balance.

:bulletyellow: What is the one thing you always wanted to do but never got a chance to?

I wish I had the opportunity to be an exchange student and became exposed to more culture. I didn't know about the program when I was younger and I was a horrible student back then. There's not many things I regret in life, but I regret not trying harder in school to have opportunities like that. It really defines the base for your whole life to ride on.

:bulletyellow: A few words for our fellow artists?

Add more contrast to your life. If you sit all day, go for a walk. If you don't have friends in your life, go find some. If you always sit in the dark, open the shade. If you only walk in the sun, take a walk in the rain. Adding more contrast to your life will make your life more interesting, more well rounded, and a better individual all around.

Satellitesi.
i'd like to transmit to you a satellite signal and warn you that
you're in orbit of
the world that mistook you for another,
home, where your wings were folded into scrapped paper,
later overflowing with ink
me, the one who you let drown in tears,
for my sake
ii.
but dear, they're setting the sky on fire again
and the satellites are as far from earth as you and i
iii.
i'd like to warn you that the stars don't circle the
planets anymore, and your wings are smothered in soot
but the world doesn't know your name
you're lost among the constellations,
one in too many
iv.
you're in danger of crashing into another
fly to me, the rain has not yet embraced you in the mist
fall to me, the muddied soil has not yet carried you
under
v.
if we took a moment to realize that the sky is impossible to burn
vi.
i'd like to transmit to you a satellite signal and remind you that
(no matter how far above earth you grace)
you're never too far from home
WantI'm drunk on
wanton poetry;
each morpheme
on key.
I can not see
straight anymore;
is he the lamb,
or me?
unsetting the sunthere is nothing of wholeness
left of me
but you have built gods of fluids
spit from unkind oceans
and sweet only in comparison
and you have swallowed past rocks
lodged like mountains
and you have counted the curves
of my intentions
good-good-good, oh-
that one. (well, you know
nobody's perfect)
and you have breathed beauty
into stubby shards
and leavings

Stubs of a Cigaretteopaque tendrils whispering
vaporous poison clogging airways
choked by outlawed sentiments
slogging through azure veins
fleeing a traitorous organ; thrumming
[ming] [ming] to a hidden metronome—
winding haze stimulating snippets of
simpering emotions conspiring the
ultimate coup d’état; the metronome
staggers …an illuminated stub weaving
maleficent murmurings and swirling
stuttering sidebars; the metronome
forfeits, refusing to save a cluttered organ
cigarette stubs..ignited at single ends;
convalescer of stress, debt caller of life.
