As the title suggests, this news article’s goal is to spread the dA love into everyone’s heart! You will find here a little bit of everything, from awesome interviews with talented artists, art features, group promotion to random deviants' features. I hope you will find this informative and entertaining!

Interviewed artist: escume :iconescume:

:bulletyellow: Tell us what defines you as a person.

I’m just somebody who has an unhealthy obsession with drawing fanciful portraits.

:bulletyellow: How did you find out about deviantART and why did you join the community?

I’ve been lurking around deviantART for a long, long time. I’m not really sure what it was that brought me here, but I would visit constantly. I grew up with this community, literally. I’ve been around since I was 12 all the way to now when I’m 19, and have gone the three very different accounts! It’s been great - the feedback, inspiration, and connections I’ve made have been invaluable.

:bulletyellow: When and how did you discover your passion for art?

I’ve been drawing ever since I can remember. As a child, my first canvases were the walls of my home. Though my doodles got me into quite a bit of trouble, they marked the beginning of my love for art. I begin taking art seriously when I was around 13 and just discovered Photoshop. It quickly became my favorite medium because of its versatility. Working with unlimited colors and canvases helped me experiment quite a lot which allowed me to grow as an artist and develop my style.

:bulletyellow: What inspires you the most and when do you think your creativity is at its maximum?

As a child I drew inspiration from the picture books I read. I was fascinated with the stories, but found the images just as meaningful as the words. Nowadays, I’m often inspired by looking at works from artists I admire (I go through many different phases). My inspiration also comes from literature, fashion photography, advertisements, unique color combinations, etc. Anything that makes me want to pick up my tablet and paint. Sometimes, randomly, the urge to paint just hits me and I feel obliged to go create something. Normally this is late at night when I’ve procrastinating and have lots of work to do. Nevertheless, it’s a wonderful feeling!

:bulletyellow: What do you think you'd be doing if you hadn't chosen this path?

In high school, I was really interested in biology. I think I might have tried to do something in marine biology or even entomology. I enjoy working with children too, so it might have also been fun to have been a school teacher. I’m not sure exactly, but art is definitely where I want to be right now!

:bulletyellow: What do you think it's your most meaningful deviation and what makes it special? Does it have a story behind it?

Hmm, I’m not sure because I think it’s always my most recent piece. But I do have an attachment to Molt not because it has some deep, meaningful story behind it, but just because it was a fun piece to paint all the way through. I was much more spontaneous with texture and color, and even though it ended up different than my other work, I was happy with the result. It helped steer me in a new, more abstract yet immensely fun direction.

:bulletyellow: Do you have any insecurities regarding your art?

Of course, I think almost everybody has insecurities about their work (and if you don’t, lucky you)! I sometimes feel that I don’t push myself out of my comfort zone enough, and am always afraid that my work might become stagnant. Recently, I’ve been trying to loosen up and play around with color and design more.

:bulletyellow: Did art ever helped you to deal with your life problems?

Art is very therapeutic to me (as long as I’m not going through a frustrating art block). Even though I’m just sitting at my desk moving my hand, it’s not a passive process. A lot goes through my mind when I’m painting and it gives me time to think about certain issues, art and non-art related. Feedback also affects my mood, and sometimes when I’m feeling down I’ll go back and read all the comments people have said. No matter what state I’m in, it always makes me smile!

:bulletyellow: What is the one thing you always wanted to do but never got a chance to?

Travel the world! But I will one of these days.

:bulletyellow: A few words for our fellow artists?

Never stop creating lots of lovely things (whatever that may mean to you) and have fun doing it!

Into The MarshesMama once sayed not to go down to the marshes because the snakes and monsters and creeping crawlies live there. They gone eat you up, she says, gone eat you up like a sundae on Saturday morning.
What you think Donny Two Cents and I gone do on a boring afternoon?
We gone down to the marshes.
“You don’t think this real bad, do you, Squeaky?” Donny Two Cents asked me. Boy is scareder than a fish in a crocodile pond. Makes me scared too, but I ain’t never telling him that.
“Course I don’t think that, why you ask?” I snapped back. “We gone to the marshes to look for the Oogey Boogey Man.” I raised my arms real high and grinned like one a them crazies you see down by St. Ann’s. They just walk around in circles all day in St. Ann’s fenced in yard and sometimes stare at the sun.
“Oogey Boogey Man?” repeated Donny Two Cents. He already trembling, that shakey boy. If we filled him with pecans he’d be a walking ma
A Reason To LiveThe scarlet leaves in Autumn,
That bronze sunset too,
The sparkles on the cold winter floor,
An early morning dew
The nieces that keep you laughing,
Those babies yet to be born,
The family member who would miss you the most,
The many lives that would be torn
The boyfriend who wipes the tears from your face,
That friend who asked if you were okay,
Remind yourself of these people,
They'd miss you every day
There have been times,
Where lies were told,
As the truth unfolds,
it leaves scars
There are things in life,
That people say and do,
In the end we can't forgive,
But please change your perspective,
And remember,
There's always a reason to live
