:bulletyellow: Tell us what defines you as a person.

I've thought about it a lot and it's hard for me to answer, it might sound presumptuous to mention something I probably lack. I think this is something only those around me can define. However I can tell you what things I like, those that motivate me. This surely will help you define me.
Autumn dry leaves, a coffee each morning, a raining afternoon, to travel in train, watching a play in a theatre, a talk at a coffee, the sunlight between the branches of the trees, the wonderful flap of the wings of a butterfly, the passionate notes of a violin, the asphyxiating plot of a good book and an afternoon watching an intricate movie in the cinema.

:bulletyellow: How did you found out about deviantART and why did you join the community?

It was some years ago by the recommendation of a female friend. She believes in my work and encouraged me to share it with other people. I'm glad she convinced me of it; it's a wonderful incentive now and helps me in gaining trust about my work. I thank very deeply that other people consider my lines a piece of art.

:bulletyellow: When and how did you discover your passion for art?

Years ago sports were my passion and my life revolved around it. My high school art classes helped me find a greater pleasure for something that already had my attention but that I didn't took seriously back then because I wasn't good at it, my works lacked soul.
Then came a time when I was informed that I had to choose between leaving sports or suffer multiple fractures that will eventually force me to leave it. I was very frustrated and I clung to not lose that which meant a lot to me. But one afternoon I was watching TV and I saw an animation, and even with all the anger and frustration I had, what I saw made me forget it and smile. And I thought "I want to do that" I want to create that sensation in other people, that they never cease to be amazed, I want them to connect with what I imagined and felt while doing a picture. I want to transmit to others the same joy I felt when I saw that imaginary world in the TV that day, I also want to share what happens in my world. That's what I want to devote my life to.

:bulletyellow: What inspires you the most and when do you think your creativity is at its maximum?

When I'm alone at home, sitting in front of my drawing table surrounded by my brushes and paints; listening to music with a low volume, my first option: Claro de Luna. Drinking tea while I see the sunlight across my window and a soft breeze moves my curtains.

:bulletyellow: What do you think you'd be doing if you hadn't chosen this path?

If I didn't found this passion I would have been an athlete as I spent a long time of my life, 17 years practicing artistic gymnastics, taekwondo and athletics. Back then my dream was to go to the Olympic Games but that just ended in a dream. I had some injuries that got worse as the years passed and I had to give up that wish.

:bulletyellow: What do you think it's your most meaningful deviation and what makes it special? Does it have a story behind it?

En donde estara - I think is a picture that defines me, it reflects me in some ways. When I did this piece I saw myself in the cold, alone and with a lot of unfinished ideas, trying to close my eyes and look for something I couldn't glimpse. I saw myself in the passing of the time, my own fear to lose that which helps me breathe. That's why the character doesn't have a hand; it's the hand with which I draw. And the problem I have with my sight that made me imagine that I can lose it someday. The character represents Death, for me it has a very deep meaning, I think about it most of the time. The wings represent a halfway point in which Death stands; it could bring peace or eternal punishment. The butterflies are an element with a deep meaning for me, beauty, elegance, fortitude and sadness. And the meaning of change and rebirth other cultures gives them is something that inspires me.

:bulletyellow: Do you have any insecurities regarding your art?

A lot. I can't avoid thinking that I still have a lot to learn to capture the ideas that are born in my mind exactly as I want them. In every new stroke I ask myself if I'll ever achieve it. Sometimes the idea of not being able to do it terrifies me as I think I would never be able to live committed to my art, which is my life.

:bulletyellow: Did art ever helped you to deal with your life problems?

Of course, I can't imagine my days without it. The true reason always was "leave here in this line, in this stroke, in this color combination that which disturbs you; that frightens you; that hurts you". Probably that's why many people ask me about my illustrations "Why the characters don't smile?", "Are you sad all the time?" the answer is No. It's just that all that pain, fear and frustration are left in those lines, colors and forms painted in what was before a white canvas and not inside of me. I think is a good way to channel those feelings.

:bulletyellow: What is the one thing you always wanted to do but never got a chance to?

That's a hard question, I can't think in only one. There are many things I would like to do and many of them are not even logical. But I think these days there's only one that occupies my mind, is completely common but I wish to dedicate my life to create illustrated books and I believe fervently that I can accomplish it as I work hard for it to happen and I'll not rest until I do. But I think as soon as I reach that goal I might want something else. But that's good; I believe that's what makes our dreams keep existing in our minds.

:bulletyellow: A few words for our fellow artists?

Once again I thank Cristina for this space, for believing my work is worth sharing and watching. Thanks to everyone who took their time to read this! A big hug to everyone!

             Can't cry

Words, they say, are a man's flower
Of seduction, but I have found
That such things have little power
Over surface structures, and in
Any case, I can now expound
On the relative eases of
Making versus maintaining love.
For all the good it has done me,
Lust may as well not be a sin.
Oh, true, eternal damnation
Has certain forbidden mystique,
Although who would begrudge those who
Find boredom in its symmetry;
Circles have a nice complexion
To them, but there are other things
Somewhat more pleasing in the round.
Demanding perfection is trite.
Because trends can change overnight,
Bets are best when hedged:  even you
Who is the happiest with pink,
Doesn't red at least deserve a wink?
Have no misgivings, I am all
For a foolish consistency,
As much as anyone; critique
Has not been a strong point of mine.
And I find it perfectly fine
If plot holes fit in between your
Lines.  For writing writers, the more
Curious eccentricity,
The better.  At the end of games,
Treason surpasses royalty,

And You Are...?I’m poetry, I’m verse.
I’m everything solemn, but nonperverse.
I’m quiet, I’m solitude
I’m nightfall and space.
I’m sultry, and messy and wrinkled in place.
Full of wisdom, but full of tears.
I understand that to be strong, you must be solemn beyond your years.

Sol and LunaTwo souls sharing a dance,
One strikes a pose,
A magnificent stance.
The other, opposed,
A more vicious repose.
With the birth of hate,
Comes twists in fate.
Two bodies transfixed,
Fatal judgment convicts.
Two no longer as one.
Separating, bodies drift,
Sands of time slowly sift,
One dwells in day and light,
The other in dark and night.
Stubborn souls in discord.
:thumb357629367: We who standWe few;
We brave;
We who face the darkness with darkness in kind;
We who stand, as others fall;
We who fight, we who defy, we who bite, we who chose to die amidst the stone and bone;
Our paths set;
Our fates secure;
We endure alone, we of pure mind and empty sorrow.
