As the title suggests, this news article’s goal is to spread the dA love into everyone’s heart! You will find here a little bit of everything, from awesome interviews with talented artists, art features, group promotion to random deviants' features. I hope you will find this informative and entertaining!
Tell us what defines you as a person.Wow, that's a hard question. We're all multi-faced, so it's hard to list that one thing that would define me. If I really have to choose, I'd say what I do, or rather, what I choose to do, defines me. I'm a strong believer of "actions speak louder than words."
How did you find out about deviantART and why did you join the community?I found out about DeviantArt through a friend who posted here, and I joined because I find the community very kind and supportive. I've made wonderful friends!
When and how did you discover your passion for art?I discovered that I like to draw humans/figures when I was seven. I attended an art class for kids and the teacher was teaching us how to draw a box (not in a still-life way, but just a standard imaginary 3/4 view box). Next she started on a tree... I had had enough at that point so I just stood up, left the classroom and walked all the way home. Obviously I never went back.
What inspires you the most and when do you think your creativity is at its maximum? What inspires me most is the story behind the artwork; I was not just painting a character, I was also dreaming about the character's world. My creativity is at its max during night time, when everyone else in family was already sleeping soundly in their beds. I've always been a night-owl.
What do you think you'd be doing if you hadn't chosen this path?I would probably be a teaching US History or Biology to kids

What do you think it's your most meaningful deviation and what makes it special? Does it have a story behind it?My most meaningful deviation (not listed) was a painting of a princess in the woods; her anatomy was awful, her head was huge, her arms looked crooked, she looked like she as if she was floating but she was supposed to be walking... eek! But I kept that artwork around, just as a reminder of how hard I've worked and how much I've learned over the years. My husband to this day still says, "Remember the floating lady...!" Argh... argh...
Do you have any insecurities regarding your art?Yes. With all the talents I've seen in this world, Old Masters, New Masters, Digital Masters... it's intimidating!
Did art ever helped you to deal with your life problems?Growing up as a severe-depressive introvert, choosing to be happy is a conscious effort for me. I use my art to create a magical world, where I can be a heroic medieval warrior, or a beautiful fairy princess; art creates a "safe zone" for my tumultuous mind.
What is the one thing you always wanted to do but never got a chance to? I've always wanted to study with Daniel Gerhartz; this is a big one on my "bucket list"!

A few words for our fellow artists?Don't be afraid to experiment, pushing boundaries will expand your skills!

SaturdayYou draw smiling faces on train windows
because even city transport can’t get away unaffected
by your cheer.
I like you, I like you, I like you
when you’re tired like moth-wings and fresh like spring mornings
and even my worst days are lovely
when you’re near.
The Color Without a NameThere is no name for the color of my hair, but there is a small section of it just left of the back that I must always braid when I leave home, so my sisters told me. As long as I wear that braid, I will be safe and nothing can harm me.
There was a girl I loved who lived on the edge of the desert. She was a year older than I was, and a bit larger, and light-skinned and blue-eyed with hair like twilight. Rashkah was her name. We were friends at first, but then we were more: she would take me dancing, and she would hold me on her lap, arms tight around me, lips by my ears, and she would kiss my cheeks and my lips and my hair and my braid, and I loved her.
On my last night she ran her hands through my hair and found my braid between her fingers, and she whispered into my ear – won't you undo your braid for me? And I knew that she meant more. I knew the words she never spoke.
And I wanted to say yes –
– but we were young, and my sisters had warned me so often that
Discrimination! “This is an outrage!” wailed the Grand High Examiner of Laricose Theta. “We’ve traveled no less than two quadrants and invested a small fortune to be here!”
Barton shifted in his seat and cleared his throat. The last thing he needed right now was to start an interstellar incident, but he could see no way out of it.
“I’m sorry you’ve come all this way, Grand High Examiner, but there’s no possible way you could have filled out the necessary paperwork. There’s no section for you to-”
The Grand High Examiner of Laricose Theta thumped the desk with his Examiner’s staff of office. “And now you see my frustration. We traveled all the way here only to find that your paperwork has only covered human entrants. This is discrimination to the highest degree.”
The young creature behind the Examiner- Barton assumed it was a female- bur

Not Your FaultEverything hurt. All the way to the tips of his hair. His lungs ached as they struggled to take in the cool dry air slowing around his face. .D couldn’t remember the last time he’d felt so abused. The time he’d come to Izm’s rescue in a fight and gotten the shit kicked out of him came a close second. He still wasn’t entirely sure all of his ribs were intact from that altercation.
Despite the temptation to abandon this painful reality, .D fought against the pervasive drowsiness pulling at him. He had the feeling that he had been asleep too long already. Had he missed school? Maybe he had caught the flu that was going around, that would explain the intense aching, though if he was this ill he should get to Nurse Isla before he got any worse. He was surprised no one had come to retrieve him yet if that was the case.
He took a deep breath and a pain seared across his chest. .D opened his mouth to yell but just had another mouthful of that cold dry air forced i
