Hello everyone, I hope youíre all otherwise doing all right, and that youíre having a happy pride month. Unfortunately, while I was away for several days, a hacker managed to break into the system and desecrate this group. A brief rundown:
  • >> For reference, no one can send an invite asking to be on the admin team. When I used to a contributor myself, I couldn't even vote on submissions. The previous founder had things very strict, and when it was handed to me, I left it as I found it.
  • >>Despite this, the hacker not only got into the admin team, but sent an invite for his second account to be of an even higher rank. He then deleted 14 years worth of art, the icon, added porn and gore to the gallery, favorites, journal, etc.
None of what he did should be possible.
When it happened, I had worked nights back to back and dealt with being refused service by my health insurance (I'm disabled and also in a lot of pain), so when I found out about the group, on top of everything else I have going on right now, I just had a breakdown. Then I had to create a banner and help with events for pride. So, I'm sorry for the late response to all of this. I promise I'm trying.
That said, Iím going to be sending a ticket to dA staff to see what can be done, but I fear for the worst. The damage was so bad that the logs (which detail who joins and submits something and when) in the admin area are gone, even though theyíre considered apart of the actual Groups system itself and it cannot be edited or removed even by founders. In all honesty, I donít really know what to do. I felt horrible, I still do (if you can have an entire group locked up the way it was for that long and it still gets obliterated, why even bother?). But I wanted to ask you guys what you think should be done with the group, if the situation comes down to dA staff not wanting to help at all. what do you think?

We are a group dedicated to the Courageous Hero Link in the Legend of Zelda series. Any Link fans are welcome!

We recently were hacked and are waiting on a reply from dA staff if they can help restore this group. If not I will add as many submissions back to the group as I can.

I am, but I'm only a contributor, so I can't fix the permissions or see all submissions from members. Everyone else has gone inactive, the founder seems to visit dA everyone in awhile but she hasn't responded to my note to her discussing the state of this group. :/
Can you reply to me here with the links of the ones you've submitted?

Ah, I get it. That seems to be happening a lot, sadly. The admins of a few groups I'm part of just disappeared in the last few months without leaving anyone else in charge of their group, and contributors as far as I know, can't do it :(. Some even visit DA from time to time, so I don't get it....
I think this is the only one I submitted here, it's just that I resubmitted everytime it expired.

Yeah, me either. :/
You've probably seen my other reply to you on your submission, so the only thingI guess I should add is that for now, can you resubmit this to the Other Links folder again?  Sorry for the hassle, but at least I can vote for that folder... This is the only work-around I can think of.
