wooaaww thank you so much for your critique, I am quite flattered :D
I think the way you described the piece is much more deeper than my original thoughts.. I'm really grateful for your kind words and your time.

I'm a total newbie in using watercolor as a medium Oops!
I can honestly say that I wasn't even sure what I was doing till the end No, I disagree! That's why I find your comments very helpful, and I will keep in mind most of them.

By the way I was not intended to use the dots on the face but the strokes on the check were unintentional as well. Then in order to hide the strokes I decided to extend the dots on the face :o (Eek) . And yet I have a stronger control with pencil compared to brush and final retouches for shading was even easier consequently.

As a professional, I am a landscape architect  and I really like the combination of different mediums when drawing. Probably, I really get used to draw with mechanical pens and markers, so I am trying to challenge myself with different methods.

Well I hope with practice I would refine my technique and create many harmonious pieces.

Again many thanks.
Cheers!

Landscape Digital Studies - 14
Awww thank you so much for your beautiful critique, it means a lot :)

Yup you are right I am the one who enjoys drawing profiles but I totally agree with you :D Meanwhile, nope you are not cynical at all. However before starting a detailed drawing, I've just decided to make some primary studies in order to get used to the expression. Well those studies should be quickline works rather than shaded/ textured almost finished pieces but I could not hold myself  Unfortunately the paper was a bit small (actually as it looks on the screen) and only half of the other eye would be fitted. Consequently I decided to leave it aside regarding the composition.

I am glad that you liked the realism and the softness of the shading.

Again, many thanks :happybounce:
