Hey everyone, I decided to paint a realistic Mudkip after Sunday's Pokemon Go's Community Day. What's not to love about this adorable little salamander? Probably my take on it.
If you want to see more of my work, including sketches, work in progresses, or whatever you can find me on.
I have also set up a print shop on Society 6!
Thanks for looking!

Ah yes, I remember the silhouette theory. A greatly designed character can be identified and be remembered by a silhouette alone that illustrates their personality and quirks, which I think applies to most Pokemon as well. I first saw it when used for the TF2 cast in how recognizable they are by silhouette alone. I'm glad you know this, a shame that a lot of other "realistic Pokemon" artists tend to skip over this.
Well I am even remembering the Pokemon TV series and the cut and return to commercial segment "Who's that Pokemon?" It had a huge impact on me, and reminds me today to stick to the silhouette for Pokemon because they read so well.
