Hi, I'm writing on your profil because as far as my violin practice goes I have a new question/issue that maybe you could have the answer to, but I can't start a thread after the shit that people gave me for it for now.

If you don't have time or you don't feel like responding it's totally fine, I still have to try cause I don't where else to ask.

So there's this one string (A) that sounds bad (tight, high) only when pressed with the index on the first position or lower (lower in terms of notes, closer to the nut), it's basically just so hard to press there that it requires a huge effort to get it to sound barely ok, but it still sounds tight when I manage to press it really hard, and unlike other strings I can't see it vibrate as much. This issue disappears as I get further from the nut.

I wonder if it has to do with the height of the notch on the bridge, or maybe the way I carved the notch itself is blocking its vibrations or something, because it only applies to that string, all the other strings ive me no issue and are easy to play.

Alternatively, this could be a completely unrelated coincidence but I'll mention it in case it's not, the peg of that same A string is the only one that's hard to turn compared to the other ones.

Without being able to measure, that sounds like the string is too far off the board. If that is the case, then what is causing it?

Is the bridge warped?
How high is the nut?

I think it's fixed tho I'm not 100 % sure but it seems like it. Thanks.

The nut isn't very high like 1,5 mm maybe, and it's the same height for all the strings anyway ?

What does warped mean ? The bridge sucks in many ways since they didn't give me another one when I chnaged my violin, I've just been slightly adjusting it since to get the best out of it, lowering the right upper side of it a bit did help slightly but the A string is still being an ass.

I might just experiment with this bridge some more when I buy another one then, maybe I just need to have that right side a bit lower, I've seen some videos of violinists who like to have it even lower.
