If you are not familiar with Lauren's work you must visit her galleries. She is such an amazingly kind and superbly talented artist. Thank you for the contest stamp Lauren! You are such a gem!
I will regularly update the journal with new entries. Please scroll down to the bottom to view the new entries. Click on the images and let the artists know that you support them. That is what DA is all about. There are so many beautiful pieces in their galleries.
The prizes:
An original, one of a kind, fairy art doll sculpture made by me. Larger than most of my art dolls this sculpture measures 10 inches standing height. She's almost done. I have a hard time putting value on my work but my pieces sell on a weekly basis anywhere from $200-$600. The winner of this contest will receive a Fairy via priority mail or the cash proceeds from the sale of the doll. Average final sale prices are currently $387.00.

(this art doll is still a work in progress much more still needs to be done.)
If you win this contest, and happen to want the money more than a fairy sculpture, note me. I will sale it to my collector base and send you the money via paypal (because its immediate) or by whatever method you prefer.
Finalists will receive a feature in Laurens

journal. And I am collecting additional volunteer features for the finalists.
The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive features and stamps from

Finalist will receive a feature from Eleanor

.
All entries will be featured (and linked back to the artists DA gallery) on my blog which is being heavily advertised by the Honolulu gallery from my upcoming April show. Already it is receiving over 100 new viewers per day.
The rules:
1. Following the theme of "Fairytale" you must use one of my photos in my gallery and create something with a classic fairytale feel to it.
2. Note me to let me know which photo you plan on sending and I can send the photobucket link if it is available.
3. By entering the digital artist grants me permission for me to post their entries on my blog and in my journal here. All work will be credited and linked back to the deviants gallery.
4. Your submissions will be seen by many. Take pride in your submission. Whether it is a digital painting or a photo manip, make it your own. Take all the artist liberties you need to put your personal style stamp on it. All entries from all levels of skill are welcomed but remember that the grand prize is going to be at the very least $200.00 USD (or the art doll) which spends very real.
5. The entries will be narrowed down to finalists by me. This is not a popularity contest. It is an art contest. The submissions will be judged based off of the artists abilities to create.
6. The finalists will be judged by 3 people that know more about digital art and photo manipulation skills. At this time, I wish to keep them private so they can't be influenced. They will be presented with the deviations and judge creativity, skill and technique.
7. The entry deadline will be Sunday March 14th. After March 14th no more entries will be accepted. However, the art submission deadline is April 1st. I set it up this way to give artists time to commit to the entry, choose a fairy, and create with no rush.
8. Final entry submissions canNOT have watermarks on them. The finalist judges should not be thinking about who they judge. They should think about what they are judging.
If you can't participate but know of someone who might wish to please help promote the contest. Also, if you would be willing to feature the finalists in your journals please note me.
Update: I have received many requests for better photos. Unfortunately, I'm not a great photographer. Quite honestly, I suck. With some images I can help by providing more options from a photobucket account, but some of the images only have what is here in the gallery. I will work with you the best I can.
This is my first ever contest. Please help me make it a success! I can't wait to see what the creative artists here come up with. I thank all of the participants, and Deviants that have promoted the contest, from the bottom of my heart.
Please click on the thumbnails to got to the artists deviation and look at the enlarged files. There are so many details that just don't show up on the smaller files.
