Quick update...

Journal Entry: Sun Nov 15, 2015, 4:40 PM
Just wanted to put out a quick update to let everyone know I'm still alive.

I have been working at Lowe's full time as a cashier. Nothing fancy, but it's money.
At least Black Friday will be a non-issue.

Nothing else really happening in my world. Going back to CA in February for a week or so to see family and get away from the New England winter a little.

My husband and I went on vacation back in August to Bermuda. Tons of great pictures to share! I hope I can post a few soon! :)

Well that didn't work...

Journal Entry: Wed Jun 17, 2015, 1:21 PM
So much for that. So here's an update.

I have left the x-ray tech program. I hated clinical. SO much. I hated being in the hospital. I tried SO hard to make it work and to like it. I wasn't doing well. I had a bad feeling towards the end of fall semester that it wasn't going to get better. I was extremely unhappy. Then came spring semester. I tried. I really did. It just got worse with every day. I dreaded going in and once I was there I only wanted to leave. The stress was so bad that it was beginning to make me physically sick every day. I ended up in the ER for dehydration one day. I missed too many days of clinical. I finally said enough is enough and took myself out of the program.

That was an expensive mistake - now I owe $20K in student loans for a degree I didn't get. ;(

Right after all this, I went to CA for 3 weeks to clear my head and reset.

Since I got back, I have been trying to find some kind of work that I won't hate. I'll probably end up in retail again. Still unemployed. :(

So much to say...

Journal Entry: Sun Sep 7, 2014, 6:37 PM
So. It's now September. So much has happened since my last journal way back in February.

We bought a house! It's awesome and I love it! We also got a new car (mostly my husband got a new car)

I quit Best Buy -- so wonderful not going there anymore! I will only miss my coworkers and the discount.

I start x-ray clinical in a week! SO nervous about it - mostly because I don't know a lot about patient care and doing things around real patients! I've only ever done things in the lab with my classmates.

I will try to post things now and again, but I will most likely be pretty busy until the end of the semester in December.

Honestly I don't really know if anyone even reads this journal. Would anyone notice if I just took it down? Feedback would be nice.

Still Alive ...

Journal Entry: Tue Feb 4, 2014, 6:30 PM
So. I haven't written here in what seems like forever. I'm a bad journal person I guess. I uploaded a few new-ish pictures today... that's progress! :D (Big Grin)

I am still alive. Just super busy with work and school and all that adult stuff. I have about a year and a half left of school. If all goes well, I will graduate in August 2015 with an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology.
Work is ... well ... let's just say I haven't burned it down yet. :kiwf:

2014 is going to be an exciting year! My husband and I are planning on buying a house later in the year! I can't wait to get away from condo living. I'm ready to NOT share walls with anyone but myself, my husband, and/or people visiting me. House I'm ready for more privacy and more space too!
Maybe a dog ... Puppy-love :D

Busy, busy, busy...

Journal Entry: Tue Dec 18, 2012, 7:43 AM
Welcome to my page!

Due to work and school, I am unable to update my journal on here as often as I probably should. I am always on Facebook - add me if you want to really know what is going on. :)

Please have a look around, send me a message if you have a question. I am on here every day even though it doesn't seem like it. I submit new pictures only occasionally these days. I wish I could do more, but I don't have the time I used to have to go out and take pictures and edit them on Photoshop.

Wow, I suck at journals...

Journal Entry: Thu Sep 29, 2011, 9:59 PM
Soooo ... yea. I suck at journals. I really just forget to do it these days. Now that we have stuff like Facebook to update anytime we want.

I REALLY suck at uploading/creating/drawing/etc new work. I seriously have a TON of pictures to play with and just don't find the time to actually get to it. I am however going to try to get to my very neglected inbox. If anything, I will get to it at the semester break when it's winter and I won't have anything else to do.

Anyway. On to news.

I apologize for not really being here. Been married 3 months now. It's pretty much the same - except all the crappy name-change stuff. LMAO ... On top of the wedding in June and vacation in July my grandmother has been sick and I have been dealing with personal issues.

This semester I am taking Anatomy & Physiology I and Medical Terminology. Should be interesting. So far it's not too bad. I have to write a paper for both about a disease. Not too sure what to do it on - I do know that I will be doing research on one disease for "two" papers and not two separate diseases. That would just be ... derp.

One Month to Go...

Journal Entry: Thu May 19, 2011, 4:03 PM
Holy crap I get married next month! :) So exciting! So much to do!

Pretty much everything is set except the seating chart. Which I can't really do until I know who all will be there. Here I thought we would have too many people and we have the opposite problem. We don't have enough! Seriously? I guess that's good in the $$$ department. Keeps the reception lower. Still ... I feel bad now because all the people we didn't invite because of room restrictions (we pay minimum 80, max 120). So now we might have to pay for 80 even though there aren't 80 coming. I wonder if it's too late now to invite a few extra friends...

I promise - AFTER the wedding and the honeymoon I will actually post something new. I kinda fail and being creative AND planning a wedding I guess. I will most definitely be taking plenty of pictures on our trip - so there really shouldn't be any excuse. LMAO

Wow I need to update more...

Journal Entry: Fri Jan 28, 2011, 4:09 PM
So... it's almost the end of January and I haven't made a journal entry since October.

Let's catch up.

I'm in my second semester at the community college. I got A's in both my classes last semester. This semester I have two classes, but one is the ease-peasy computer 101 class that is a requirement that I don't really need. Whatever - the easier the better for this semester! The other one isn't so easy (essentials of anatomy and physiology). Lots of wedding stuff to still plan!

About that wedding thing. Yea. Still way expensive. Mom will be visiting in March for the 3-month to go meetings with all the vendors. We have now had our engagement party and one bridal shower. I went to CA to visit family and friends earlier this month. It was awesome. The trip was WAY too short though.

Work is still there. I haven't burned down Best Buy yet. Things aren't that bad. They usually are cool about my school schedule and time off requests.

As far as here on DA ... I'm a slacker, what can I say? I have been trying to get caught up in my inbox. It's not that I don't look at people's work. I enjoy it on a daily basis. I then will keep the ones I want to comment on in my inbox and forget about it until I notice I have like 80 messages and realize how much of a slacker I am. LOL

Weddings are expensive...

Journal Entry: Sun Oct 10, 2010, 9:42 AM
I have been very busy wedding planning! We actually have a lot done! All the big things (photographer, florist, DJ, venue) are all booked! Some of the big things and a few little things are purchased. Yay for less stress! Big thanks to my mom/wedding planner! She did a ton when she was visiting!

School is going well so far. I am currently getting an A in both biology and math. Midterms are coming though. Wish me luck!

I got bored the other day and made a calendar!! www.deviantart.com/print/14935… (select calendar on the right side)I didn't upload it as a new deviation though. As soon as I realized I did it wrong, I was done. It is very time consuming uploading large files to this site!! Maybe I will go back and redo it... I mostly did it for giving as Christmas presents to family members, but I hope I sell a few here too!

A nice place for a walk by LinaraQ <-- Click me I'm a calendar now!

Nothing new...

Journal Entry: Sat Aug 28, 2010, 9:11 PM
So ... nothing really new to talk about.

This week Sean & I will be going to North Carolina for his sister's wedding. It's going to be a sort of mini-vacation for us since it's over 10 hours away. At least we get a few days to enjoy doing nothing. :) I sure hope the weather is nice!

School starts next week - I'm excited about that :) Mom is also coming to visit next week. Fun times! Only bad thing is that I wasn't able to ask for the time off like I usually do when she visits. I just can't afford it. :( She understands, but I still hate the idea of being at work/school while she sits at home doing nothing special. Oh well, I guess.

I am so broke! ... :( Planning a wedding is SOOOO expensive!! If anyone out there still reads this - I do have a prints account if you would like to contribute to our cause ;) I don't think I have legitimately sold a print since the first year I got the prints account. It's usually just me getting prints of my own work. Which frames quite nicely!

Engaged!

Journal Entry: Sat Jul 10, 2010, 4:28 PM
Yay! Sean & I are finally engaged! :D I'm so happy! It's so exciting! Probably looking at next spring or early summer. It just happened last night so I don't know much yet. So much to do now...

In other news... in addition to planning a wedding I will be going back to school this fall. Hopefully I will eventually get accepted into the Radiologic Technology program at the community college here. There are a few prerequisites to take care of first before I can try to get into the program. I also have to figure out how to do the work full time while going to school thing eventually. I have about a year or so to figure that out.

New camera!! An update...

Journal Entry: Mon Apr 12, 2010, 7:43 PM
Yay! I got a new camera! Finally! :D For those interested I got this one www.bestbuy.com/site/Olympus+-… I had some gift cards and I got my tax return so I figured why not - I didn't want to wait until my birthday.

In light of my new acquisition... expect some new stuff soon! I'm planning a trip into Boston this coming Wednesday - I hope to take some nice springtime pictures! I do have a few pictures I took last week with the old camera that I might post eventually too. I'm excited to take pictures again - that's all that matters!

Soon I want to take a trip to The Garden in the Woods www.newfs.org/visit too! I got an annual pass for there for Valentine's Day from Sean. I hope to get some nice flower pictures when I go! :)

I'm still realllllly behind on the inbox. I'm sorry! I don't want to just fav and run! I want to actually comment on things. and that's why I am so behind. I know, I fail.

A little behind...

Journal Entry: Thu Feb 25, 2010, 9:23 PM
I'm a little behind on my inbox here at DA.

I'll admit. I've been playing a lot of WoW. LOL That and I just haven't really been here. My mom will be visiting me for a week, so there's another week I haven't commented or faved anything anyone has submitted. I know, I fail.

I still want a new camera. I work at Best Buy - you would think I would have broken down already! Getting there... I went out and took some pictures the other day and they are just not that great. It's really sad because my camera used to be good. :(

Slowness...

Journal Entry: Wed Jan 20, 2010, 8:39 PM
Not much going on here lately. Kinda slowish. It's winter. Lots of snow outside :)

I have not really been outside to take pictures like I thought I would - mostly because I'm just too busy and it's cold outside. Most days I work it's dark outside by the time I'm off. So, bleh. My days off I usually spend either doing chores or out with my guy :) Not to mention I still want a new camera.

I've seen a few good movies lately - Sherlock Holmes and Avatar (in IMAX twice!). OMG I think Avatar is like my new favorite movie! :) The visuals are just amazing and I really like the story! I kinda want to draw something from Avatar, but I haven't drawn anything worthwhile in a long time. I haven't colored anything in an even longer time. So, I dunno...

I've also been playing a lot of World of Warcraft. I finally leveled my paladin to 80 and now my new project is my 70 priest (which I am leveling with my boyfriend) and my 35 shaman. I have quite a collection now! For those counting I have level 80 mage, hunter, paladin, and death knight.

Journal Entry: Sun Dec 20, 2009, 6:30 PM
Today we had some pretty substantial snow thanks to a storm. Thank you God I had the day off because otherwise I'm not sure how I could have gotten to work! I actually had the weekend before Christmas off and I have no clue why. I mean - wouldn't this be the busiest weekend of the year?? Not that I'm complaining. Trust me, I enjoyed my weekend. :)

Not much else going on right now. Working so I can pay my bills. Sadly I just don't make enough. I really don't know how to make more money without either doing something I don't want to do or go back to school. I'd prefer the latter - but unfortunately, that requires money too. Money I just don't have unless I have some big inheritance I don't know about.

If anyone ever wanted to contribute to my cause - I do still have a print account. No one ever orders anything but me, but it's still there LOL

Tomorrow is Black Friday and I have never been so scared to go to work! It's going to be mayhem and it's most likely going to suck. A lot. All day from 430am till 5pm. Ick. Wish me luck!

In other news ... One month until Christmas. I haven't really done much shopping and that's bad. I don't have a ton of money either. So I guess I will do what I can.

Mom's visit to MA was a lot of fun -- I really didn't take nearly as many pictures as I thought - mostly because she was the one with the camera. I took a few, but on her new camera. LOL

Time Flies...

Journal Entry: Fri Oct 23, 2009, 2:37 PM
So. I have officially been at Best Buy one whole month! Things there are great! I have fun and as far as I know, I do a good job! :) I still haven't earned my blue shirt - but I do get my discount now! Woo hoo! The shirt will come soon...

This week I am not working at all in honor of my mom that is visiting us for the first time since we moved here! :D She has never been here, so we will be going plenty of places. Expect some new pictures from me! :D

I really hope my camera holds out that long. It has been being kinda funny lately, so I'm not too sure how much longer it will be with us. That's where my new discount might help - I have been eying the newer version of my camera. www.amazon.com/Olympus-Stylus-… I want it. Nice thing is that since it truly is the newer version (I have the 710) I can use the same batteries, memory cards, and case for it!

I got a better job - that was quick...

Journal Entry: Tue Sep 15, 2009, 7:57 PM
I am employed again!! Sorta. I accepted a full-time cashier position at Best Buy. It's retail, but that's what I'm good at. That and its still $10 an hour. I really lucked out that they had full-time available! I did my exciting drug test yesterday and hope to get a call soon to find out when orientation is. I got my khakis and my new shoes already LOL Now I'm looking forward to that discount... :D

I actually had pretty good luck with the job search. I also had a job offer at PetSmart, but they couldn't guarantee the hours I need. I Filled out a total of 5 applications and got 3 responses within the week. People kinda liked the whole lots of retail experience mixed with Disney experience! :D

In other news - I went to my first Fenway Park Red Sox game the other day! OMG It was awesome! My friend Helen invited me to go last minute - since I was unemployed, I didn't have anything else to do while Sean was at work. Fenway is SO different from Angel Stadium - mostly in the fact that you really don't see any other fans other than the Red Sox Nation. Such a wonderful atmosphere! Thanks to Helen's schmoozing with the usher, we got moved from our high up seats to the third row! We were so close you could practically count the blades of grass! Sadly, since it was a night game all my pictures are blurry, grainy, or both. Sean and I are going to a game at the end of the month too. Can't wait!

Only 4 more boxes in the living room! Almost there! Yay! We hung pictures and everything! It looks so wonderful! I feel more moved in and comfortable here than I ever did in the Tustin apartment. Odd, Isn't it?

That was special...

Journal Entry: Sat Sep 5, 2009, 6:47 AM
So. I am now unemployed once more.

Apparently "it's not working out". Let's just say IF I had had ADEQUATE training, I MIGHT have actually been able to do the job. I "worked" for almost a full month. Most of that time was spent watching others do their job and not doing it myself. Then the last week they said "here you do it now" and expected WAY too much from me. They didn't really give me a chance!!! They seriously were expecting me to take stuff home and "study" it. I was pretty much expected to memorize the entire service schedule for Honda - not just what is done, but why. If I wanted to be a mechanic I would have gone to school for it. The job description said "no experience required" and did NOT mention any memorization requirements. At least I got $11/hr for it... they paid a few bills for me. Whatever. I'm better off without them anyhow.

On the bright side - I now have a good friend here in MA! Maybe I was only meant to have that job long enough to make friends. I would like to think of it that way. It's nice to have someone that isn't related to Sean to hang out with :)

So I think I'm going to stick to retail until I figure out what I REALLY want to do with my life. The pay is crap usually, but I know it and am a good cashier. I have too many bills to spend any more time looking for something else. I already put in applications for a couple things. I just don't really like how everything is an online application now. What happened to human contact? Maybe I will find something that might give me more time to spend with Sean - we have had opposite work schedules since I started that place. It's not fun only seeing him for an hour as we eat dinner.

Everything else is just fine here. Not many boxes other than decorative stuff left. I think we will put things up on the walls next :) Then it will look like we are moved in! Maybe I will go for a walk in a few days and take some pictures or something. Now that I have free time again.

I got a job - and other musings...

Journal Entry: Sun Aug 2, 2009, 8:35 AM
I got a job! Not only did I get a job - I got the first job I applied for! It's even full-time, M-F, 830am-5pm. It's very similar to what I was doing in scheduling at Disney. Lots of phones and computers - it's called service appointment coordinator at a car dealership. I'm the one you call when you want to bring your car for service basically. So, yay!

In other news - I got my car and all the legal junk out of the way. I have my MA license with my MA car insurance with my MA car registration... I don't recognize my car anymore LOL. I think I have gotten my address changed on almost everything now too.

As for the boxes ... there are still several boxes, but a lot of them are the books that go on the bookcase that just so happens to be in the basement still. Hopefully that will change very soon. At least they aren't in the middle of the living room floor anymore.

On the art front ... I posted some new pictures the last few days. I have new things to take pictures of! AND I got a new printer/scanner/copier/thing so I will be able to post drawings again too! Now all I have to do is draw something... where's my paper again...
