Literature Text

If the world hurled at me
Ten hundred thousand things to do,

And revoked my every freedom
For a chance to start anew,

If I fought a hundred armies,
And began to wounds accrue,

I would bear no resentment,
And fight to continue.

If I gave up my possessions,
And had to say adieu,

Yet still my will would carry on
Though both my eyes bedew.

If I had to bear the world's sins
In order to be true,

I'd take in every moment
For a fleeting, simple you.
;;

Will my feelings reach?
