I like the lines, but before reading your discussions with montycrusto  and ronniebegoode  (both of whom I also watch) I'd seen the piece as a first person view of a girl giving her male partner a lap dance. I don't see that as necessarily imbalanced or creepy since it can be consensual and "not for payment".

After reading the discussions I wasn't necessarily right even taking my initial view of the lines.

Based on your discussion with Monty, yes it can also be viewed as "inside every fat girl there's a thin girl and 60kg of chocolate!" (yes, that's a quote, not a judgement on my part). That, of course, is also a sort of power imbalance. Still, my main reason for mentioning the weight was so I could congratulate you on achieving that sort of weight loss in that time scale! :huggle:

I love that description and that is such a great quote haha, thank you very much. In many ways it is how I viewed this, I saw it as myself teasing the person I am with and emphasizing that it was within the context of an uneven power dynamic. Something that I love to explore and excites me to no end. The key is the consensual aspect to it. Which is why I always put myself into the work. For it not to seem 'creepy' or disturbing, a person needs to have the same perspective as I do. That consensual, safe, sane fantasy is exactly that; fantasy. Someone who can't separate fantasy and reality because the voice in their head won't let them see the difference is going to find a lot of what I do confronting. Which is entirely the point :)

Thanks.

Also, I'm a little sensitive about the risk of being accused of "fattism"; my sis is ever-weight, but that is honestly a side effect of the medication she's on for life because she has a hormone imbalance. "Being fat" can be a genuine medical condition or at least a side effect of one.

Thats understandable. The fact you are aware of it says a lot about you. Very empathetic Heart its definitely more common then people think.

This is an amazing drawing. There's power imbalance and real creepiness, but it's not offensive or gross, which it could be in other hands. Aside from the technical aspects, which I know little about, your artistic vision is extraordinary.

Thank you, that is a truly amazing compliment. I honestly feel very lucky to be able to find that balance, that my part in this greater story of consciousness is what it is.

great job Lily...  the view point is perfect, really immersive.  I really like the touches of red you are using.  The subject seems quite dark and suggestive;  there's a sense of menace going on which makes it a very powerful image.  Fantastic drawing!

Thank you Monty <3 the themes of red shoes/red tie in a lot of what I do is because thats literally what I live in haha. I've worn the same red tie for 8 years and have had the same pair of converse allstar red shoes for about the same amount of time. The mini skirt/otk socks is because I love them (aaaand I dont have fk all else as far as clothes go since I lost like 64kgs since Oct last year). Interesting you picked up on the domineering aspects of it, wanted to show the body language to be more of a power imbalance then it originally might suggest :)

holy shit - 64 kg?  that's a whole person you've lost there... :omg:  Not surprising if nothing fits you any more :)  I can't help adoring women in mini-skirts.. and this scenario you've got here does suggest some kind of exploitative fondling, at the very least, maybe I'm seeing it in the light of Mielytu 's work as well.. but I see similar themes and approaches in yours.  It's exotic and unsettling. And I love it

I know right? I literally lost the equivalent of an average 15yo girl and then stole her clothes xD  exploitative fondling is like my favourite thing. It should happen to me more often. We do seem to have a lot of similarities. Her work speaks to me as though it came from my own hand. Is a strange feeling but I love it!

Yes, I feel it too :)  I have the same attitude to Mielytu's as to your work.. I need to slow down, to savour it, and absorb it slowly, let it creep into my head.  Sometimes get that with Apollonia Saintclair too (one of my ink-heroes) Pixel Icon: Ink-Heart (F2U!)   That's why I haven't yet :+fav:ed many of your works, they require and deserve time and close attention, and I want to comment on them too.

And yes, those hands are clearly going to run up under that short skirt.. and go exploring.. it's so awesome  it's like you are reading my mind sometimes.

I'd be happy to link you to my dropbox folder that I store the original scans of when I make them if you'd like to without watermarks the pieces you've connected with. You're welcome to print your own copies of them too. I'd only ask that you don't share the link with anyone but I already know you wouldn't :) and I very much like to think those hands would explore! hehe, it sounds like you are reading mine quite thoroughly Heart
