I just had the most wonderful time at Anime Expo this year. This was my 4th year attending and after all these years, I finally feel like I'm being recognized as an artist. *w* I've made more artist alley friends and met some regular buyers. Though I kick myself for leaving to get lunch 1 day. While I was gone, a group wanted to interview me. T.T I would have loved to do that.

So here's a recap with some photos.

Photobucket

We stayed at the Luxe City Center hotel this year. It cost more, but it was worth it. We got to stay in a newly renovated room on the top floor and we were close to the convention center. This is the first time I've ever been in a room with hardwood floors.

My table the first day. I brought my wire cubes, but I forgot the connectors so I couldn't put them up. T.T That was the only thing I forgot to bring. But it worked out in the end. When some room cleared, I put up my small paopu plushies and deco rings. I nearly sold out of everything. I just have a couple of plushies left. I did manage to make a whole lot of new things as well.

Photobucket

This lovely Kairi bought my paopu pillow to go with her cosplay.

Photobucket

These two were just the sweetest couple. They named their daughter Kairi and thus decided to collect lots of paopu items for her. They bought my little paopu as you can see in the carriage.

Photobucket

Candid shot! The Tifa here bought 3 paopus, 2 were for her friends. They were working at the tables across from me.

Photobucket

This was the person who commissioned me for the Yachiru plushie and hats. I'm glad I could help him complete his cosplay.

This was the person who commissioned me for Gummy. I was so happy she had time to stop by. She said my Gummy plushie was a big hit.

:iconthunderemperorraite:'s custom Naruto cosplay.

This cosplayer was surprised I knew what anime she was cosplaying from.

These 3 were cosplaying from a music video by DECO*27: Egoselfish www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBTP-V…

Photobucket

You would not believe how popular Adventure Time was this year.

Photobucket

Same goes for My Little Pony.

I wanted to take this cosplayer home with me. T.T

Yay for more Digimon cosplayers!

My lunch 1 day. After all these years, this was the first time I tried the food at the food trucks around AX. Why didn't I do it sooner!? That was some of the best food I ever had. This was also my first lobster roll ever, which I loved to death. >w< The food trucks fed me and my friend pretty much the whole con.

This was my free drink loot. Cause the X Games were going on in the same location, lots of people were giving out free energy drinks. Then the Tentacle Grape came from AX. The X Games ruined a good chunck of the con, but at least I got some free stuff in return.

Photobucket

My loot. I didn't get much because everything I wanted was so expensive. I didn't even get a chance to look around the artist alley. O.o

Special shout out: I got to meet Danny Choo! And the one behind Belen Lazer Designs. I bought some Pokemon badges and Wayfinders. It was nice seeing :iconserenity-sama:'s plushies in person this year. :iconlilythescorpio:, it was great seeing her again. I will hunt her down at the next con we meet. The Moemura cosplay she wore fit her personality really well. XD I got to have some time to speak with :iconcatnapcaps: and check out her booth, which is always nice to do. I sat in front of the guy who made the book "Cosplay in America." He was so super nice. He almost gave me diabetes. I hope to see him again. I stopped by :iconmiemie-chan3:'s dealer's booth. I want to buy all her tights eventually. But for now I just wished her luck with Japan Expo. Lastly, I got to talk with :iconkimchikawaii:. We've crossed paths at other cons, but this was the first year we really got a chance to talk. ^^ She was so nice. I can't wait to see her again.

Phew! I'm almost done recovering from con shock. Now I need to get back to work with orders. Hopefully I'll be opening commissions sometime soon. My next con will be Ani-Jam.

How are those necomimi? I've been thinking about getting a pair and want to know if they work well before I consider it.

I love them. XD They are a great way to get attention. Though I don't like the white ears. But you can easily sew some custom ears for it. Just 2 things you should know though. It can't be worn for long periods of time. It feels fine for a few hours, but after a while, they start to feel heavy and hurt. Then the battery only lasts for 4 hours of continuous wear. But I still think they are worth it.

Yeah. I seen them before they were released and wanted them. Thank you for the information. One last question that I'm afraid to ask... How much did they cost there? XD

They were selling for $100-$110. I've seen them for about $120 online.

It was great to meet you finally too! And thank you so much for watching my table on Saturday so I could grab a bite. I've already bought my AX table for next year. If you're going again, we should request to sit next to each other :) Although, I may end up buying all your plushies then and that won't be good for my profits, lol (especially if you come up with a desert bunny shaped dessert bunny, wink wink)! Wish I had known earlier that you were missing the connector thingies. I had lots of extra and could have loaned you some.

I heard other people talking about how the X Games kinda messed up parts of AX. As this was my very first time and I didn't wander too much, what was different this year?

I need to make it out to the food trucks next year. That lobster roll is making me drool.

It was no problem watching your table. ^^ I had no idea you had more connectors? I didn't feel like asking anyone since I assumed most people only brought enough for their own displays. ^^; I bought my table for next year as well. It would be fun to sit next to you.

I had no idea it was your first time at AX. Well it was mainly 3 things that made the X Games annoying. One was of course the crowds of crazy X Games fans. The second was the road being blocked off so we had to go around a ways to get back to our hotel. The last thing was that they caused AX to cancel their reservations for the main events at the Nokia Theater. I really enjoy seeing the events in the theater because it's really nice. But they had to move the events into one of the halls instead. They did a nice job though.

Were you there on Sunday?? I was there on Sunday on the spur of the moment even though I thought I wasn't going to AX this year. I was super disappointed with the lack of merch at AM2 exhibit hall so I felt like I had to go to AX for my yearly dose of Anime/Japanese buying spree.

DX I wish you would have found me. Some artists told me they were disappointed with AM2 as well.

the artist alley was decent, but the exhibit hall was definitely lacking. my friend and i got tired so we sat along side a pillar and there was so much unused space. AM2 could have gotten at least another 50 more dealers easily. you could really feel the difference as you walk from booth to booth, there was actual space! unlike AX where you are fighting through crowds.

Well I wish there was more space around the tables. I hated having to bump around some of the sweaty and smelly people at AX. Someone told me that they were playing music at AM2, but it was way too loud and annoying.

=3 I'm glad I was FINALLY able to buy one of your plushies. I LOVE my li'l chickypoo <3 He's so darn adorable. I wanted to buy all his siblings too, but I figured it was best to share. X3

Also, have you ever heard of Five Cities Anime? It's a convention in San Luis Obispo, but it seems really small, so I don't know anything about it. I'm hoping someone I know has a clue so they can tell me what it's like there =x

Thanks. I'm glad you liked my chicky. ^^ Sadly no, I haven't heard of that con. So I'm not sure how it would be. It might be like Ani-Jam, small and new.

Probably. I might try to go some other year and find out.
