I am sure most of you have come across this - a picture taken off the net and uploaded as a deviation here in dA. Most times, the deviant claims it as their own art, rejecting all evidences to the contrary, until dA takes it down. You have seen that, yes? At times, it appears that the deviant is not deliberately stealing art, but is acting in ignorance that such an act is copyright infringement.
This disturbing trend has recently become evident in submissions to our group's galley. Where it is obviously taken from the net, or from another dA account (because I have seen it!), it is declined with a comment that stolen art is not acceptable in dA. Where it is highly suspect (because the standard is far superior to all the other works in the deviant's own gallery), I have raised the question in a note to the deviant - interestingly, most times, there is no respond from the deviant in question (and so, the submission expires).
For those of you who are guilty of this, whether as a deliberat
