Mad hatter from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Ok, so long story short, it turns out that they turned Alice in Wonderland into a ballet, and H and I watched it at christmas and we love it! My favourite parts are the Duchesses cottage and the Mad hatter's tea party. Now, the whole thing is ballet, but the hatter is actually a tap dancer, and it's absolutely amazing! he is now my favourite version of the Mad hatter ever!

So that's where the design came from (including the outfit and the cakes and stuff in the background. They're props on stage and stuff). There's quite a bit of detail on his coat collar and cuffs, and considering this is done on A4, that's really small scale detail for me!

VERY proud of this one; just hope others can see it the same way I do!

if anyone wants to see the clip from the ballet, the links are below! It is definitely worth watching! I'm not into ballet, but I still find myself watching it over and over again!

[link] Red Queen, just because she's epic!

Art copyright to me!
Alice's adventures in wonderland copyright to Lewis Carol!
The mad tapper 9as he's tecnically called on the show) copyright to the Royal Ballet, Canada (where? *shot*)

P.s. The Hatter in Alice Madness returns just scares me....

I rather like the Royal Ballet's Mad Hatter, myself. His hat, itself, may possibly my favorite out of them all.

Nice picture; Hatter looks like a woman (was that your intention?), but, then again, it's hard to look especially masculine with a pink tie-dye coat and strawberry hair. (Steven McRae looks fantastic in that outfit, nevertheless.)

I tip my hat to you! Riasing Hat Bravo!

Sincerely yours,
J.

He's absolutely brilliant; definitely one of the highlights of the performance! (quite liked the Duchess' cottage scene as well)

Thank you very much! ^_^ Let's say his feminine looks were intentional ;3 (it was actually my style at the time - I struggled to draw people looking masculine, but I've gotten a little better...albeit I'm still not that good ^^; ) Yeah, the magenta and fuchsia doesn't help him in the slightest X3 (he really does; he pulls the whole look off really well! There are only a few people in the world who could look fabulous in that coat and hat! :D )

*tips hat back* Thank you~ ^.^

The time running from the Paper Boat Ride to the Caterpillar scene was, in my opinion, the best part of the show, as a whole. I was quite surprised by just how depraved the Duchess' House sequence was; the whole ballet has some "adult" moments, some eerie points and nuances, but that scene was nearly Hellish, almost like something out of "Dreamchild" or the American McGee video games. (Which is why I absolutely LOVED it; Wonderland DOES have a dark side, and this was the point in the ballet where it reared its head full-force.)

Out of sheer, insatiable curiosity, are there any other Hatters you fancy, off the top of your head? (Don't let the Queen know I said that. ;) )

Sincerely yours,
J.
