Thank you! Yes, I use gradient maps because working in grayscale just really works for me. I know a lot of artists have no problem working in color and using layer modes, but I find my work suffering when I do that. For this particular painting, I had some anatomy issues in the face, so I did end up going back and doing a lot of edits. For those I used straight color, but I had to check my values a lot. 😅
By the way, I love your work! It has such a bright, airy, and ethereal quality to it. 💗 You're very good with greens too and controlling the saturation / emphasis of colors. These are all things I'm still learning to do, so your encouragement is greatly appreciated.
