Let's get this questionnaire underway!

1. How long have you been on DeviantArt? According to my profile page, 12 years. *whistle* Wow. XD Been here a while!

2. What does your username mean?  It is my pen name. Or half of it. For a while, I just went around as "Liliy" but later expanded it to "Grey Liliy." 

3. Describe yourself in three words. Panicked. Tired. Optimistic.

4. Are you left or right handed? Right handed!

5. What was your first deviation? Psh. I don't even remember. XD

6. What is your favourite type of art to create? Digital! I love digital painting. Though if we're talking all sorts of art, writing is my current fav.

7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be? Painting. I've always had thick line art and a more cartoonish look, that being able to paint with no lines and have all that depth and shape would be amazing.

8. What was your first favourite? Same. XD I don't remember and I'm too lazy to actually look through the archive.

9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most? Character art.

10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist? Ha ha, not going to trick me with that one! There are too many great artists on here to name. <3

11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be? Probably MalaPokusa at the moment. Though I also wouldn't mind meeting Mvmarcz sometime!

12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life? Quite a few! cowgirlem, MalaPokusa, and Mvmarcz  have all been huge and encouraging influences in their own ways. <3

13. What are your preferred tools to create art? Photoshop & my little Wacom Tablet. Though lately I've taken a liking to the art program Mischief.

14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art? With my computer. XD It's the only place I can draw digitally, so it's gotta' do!

15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory? Joining the site in the early days and getting to talk with so many amazing artists, doing art trades and talking. I'm not as active in the community as I was years ago, but those early memories are too good to beat. <3

I decided it was about time I updated my Journal Placeholder with the latest information and goings on. There's been some big changes in my life, so I should probably change this up to, right? The biggest change, would have to be this: Writing and Art are now my full time career.  There's no second income any longer, it's all coming from book sales, ad money and wonderful Patrons. And I'm hoping that I can keep it that way for a long time.

So first of all, I wanted to thank everyone who's taken the time to enjoy my comics, my art or read my books.

And now for that placeholder part! What's the best use for a placeholder post? Information! Since Deviantart is mostly for my art (save for the old written work or photograph hanging around, which is always a fun blast to the past), I figured I might drop some links where you can find me elsewhere!

Want Information On My Books?

Broken Pocket is my main book hub. It has information on books that are available for purchase (both digital and print) as well as a bit of information about them. I'm also trying to collect some writing resources there if you want more information about publishing your own work, albeit that section is much smaller.

Goodreads is also a great place to check out. Not only can you review my books (which I, and every other author, appreciates), but you can also chat in groups and have a great time!

And last but not least, you can also find me at NaNoWriMo!

Other Art?

The Adventures of Wiglaf and Mordred is my webcomic is now over 1000 pages and still going strong Since I've started posting the pages early to Patreon, updates have been going up on time and regularly for months now after a brief art depression that caused late strips and skipped pages. But no more! Now it's three times a week and I am much happier with it than I've been in years. So thank you for reading!

Ravelry I've recently taken up both crochet and knitting. If you're a fellow yarn crafter, I'd love to see your work or be buddies on the site!

Patreon

Last, but certainly not least, I'm going to drop a link to my Patreon. 

Art takes time and money to be created and shared no matter what your medium. But it's also something that's important to our lives, whether it's literature, comics or art, so hiding it behind a pay wall is something that hurts me.

I love sharing my comics for free, and I want to continue doing that, but I also have bills to pay that no only includes regular living expenses, but also servers, ISBN Numbers, cover artwork, and even the money I'd need to help support artists that I adore. Patreon helps supplement that income by reintroducing the Patron system: People who can afford to give a little extra a month to pay for the art do, so that others who can't afford it can enjoy the artwork. 

It's honestly a refreshing system, and I've seen so many artists able to produce more content without the doom and gloom of being terrified that they won't make their rent hanging over their heads with every brush stroke that there's no way this isn't a good thing. It's not begging, it's compensation for hard work and effort. And I love that it's helping so many people, including myself.

And of course there are benefits. In my case, if you donate $1 or more a month, you get to see each page of Wiglaf and Mordred a week early. If you donate $5 or more a month, you get early access to a free short story a week.

I also sometimes post things to the Patron stream first, such as previews of book covers as they come up which you can see at any donation level. It's pretty neat. :3

Oh, Deviant art!

I discovered this site many years back when a dear friend (cowgirlem in fact!) asked me to come join her~ I did, and the rest is history.

Meeting new artists, seeing so much amazing art, learning new things from tutorials--pretty much everything that the site said it would do, it did.

I'm not around as much as I used to be, but this is still my favorite place to showcase and collect all my artwork together into a nice big hub.
