Remember when I was talking about doing those hand-painted mugs?  And remember how I pulled the plug on that project because the internet is full of liars? Well, I think I found the problem and fixed it. Just to be clear, the original internet legend says that you're supposed to be able to use oil-based Sharpie brand pens to create awesome designs on already-glazed porcelain.  The advice they give, though, is that "the cheaper the glaze, the better it sticks." Eff a bunch of that noise, in my opinion.  I like high quality mugs, I like solid cups that I can trust to not have obscene levels of lead or mercury or whatever the newest cost-cutting

This is cross-posted from my main blog, the Normality Factor. ************************************** This word has been used recently, and it's bugging the hell out of me.  Mostly, it's bothersome because it shows a distinct lack of observation on the part of the people using it - which is only vaguely understandable in some cases - but I think it bothers me more because it shows a tendency towards judgment, and you know how I feel about that. I'm pretty sure that I set up this DA account years and years and years ago...  And I can only surmise that because 1) when I tried to sign up for a new account, it didn't like me, and 2) when I took at stab at the password, it was one I haven't used in several many years. Since the last time I slipped and fell back into my art addiction, technology has blasted forward.  There weren't forums like this before (we're talking ten or more years) (yes, I'm old), but I'm pretty happy they're there now. I've been trying to keep up with my art blog over on http://www.bananafreckles.com, but I think this would be a better community for that.  Maybe
