Sabbatical

Sabbatical

I'm on a week's pseudo-sabbatical from the day job (long overdue lieu, in effect).  I'm debating taking a proper sabbatical from "gainful employment" as it's sapping all my energy. My partner's really noticed it.  In the past two days I've been more productive than the previous three months.  Alongside sewing and fabric projects, I've also started work on sculpting the master for a garden ornament and resumed work on Shadows.  It's invigorating.  I feel like I've done very little today, despite doing alterations to an old suit and making the mesh and wire armature of the sculpture. The delay on this and on posting other stuff, and I have quite a backlog of older stuff together with some newer work, has been due to a number of factors, many beyond my control. One of these factors, however, is significant. In the last year I've started sewing again, and that's led to my starting work on various items of clothing, costumery and accessories.  The recent photos of a costume I made for Hallowe'en last year is just one of the p
