The festival was abuzz with crowds during the day. However, it stayed open even in the night, when the nocturnal kukus were active. And even though her biorhythm wasn’t in sync with the moon’s light, Uzi felt herself draw to the darkness that daylight chased away. She didn’t know why until today. The magicks that Life and Death offered to their kin and followers covered the grounds like an invisible mist. Energy flowed endlessly, attaching itself to those whom sought to use it. Uzi was not originally of the idea that she would be one of those chosen to wield such powers. She wandered the less crowded yet still busy paths through the tents and vendors, keeping herself as out of the way of others as possible. Light's Journal - Entry No. 1, Date: Unknown, Location: Kaharian The first thing I remember when I opened my eyes was sunlight flooding my vision. I blinked and squinted to adjust my eyesight. I remember standing in a field with birch trees growing sparsely around me. I turned around and made a mental note of my surroundings. There were many mountains, and a few hills, and a river not far from me. My first instincts were to gather materials, find a safe space, and start building a shelter. I started out by cutting down trees and gathering wood. I headed towards the river as I did this, hoping to get a better view of my surroundings. After taking a refreshing drink of water, I looked around to see a hill with what could have been a small house built on it. So I headed towards it. Not only did I find one house, but a small village. The villagers seemed afraid of what would come at night. So I stayed. I fought off mobs that sought to harm the villagers. I brought protection.
