yes yes.. i shall make this a norm to do a post after i'm back from my trips.
experienced the same syndromes as when i was back from japan... like any overseas trip. T_T

and korea was fun, i totally didn't want to leave. i've bunched it together with the previous korea trip tags here
DAY 1 & 2…
but i am so long-winded in my entries, it's better to not read them.

the best experience here was probably to perform with the korea team for karas, because they are all so awesome. i am only a guest character, don't expect too much lol…
(i still have no clue why the ending is so abrupt, i think they ran out of time practising zzz)

and for the rest of the videos, you can find them at WonderCosplay YouTube channel:

1. this is the korea's WCS representative video for 2011. the monster was like more than 2m tall and very furry and the lady's costumes is so pretty!!! just look at how fast she can move... (makes me bow our MH performance in shame)…

2. Saerom and Seulgi's team, for Best Performance. we looked at their costumes in detailed... it's really beautiful up close. and the whole performance is just gorgeous. a pity they only got runners up, i was rooting for them. but Monster Hunter is just too hard to beat...…

3. Best costumes to Aino and Taeyeon. i like the way Aino's pink costume flows, but i really think if they have put more bling it would have looked more stunning on stage.…

4. another one worth mentioning is FF7's skit by Kyung Min and #1 dangerous man in korea. i find it very entertaining for the whole part, especially the glowing background and piecing of cloud's sword. the only reason why they didn't get anything was probably because they reused their performance...…

who wants to join me again for christmas in korea?! i visit too much, sorry.

ok, gotta resume WIP journals for my blog now... over the Deepavali weekend we had in Singapore, i managed to complete quite a lot (...of Korean dramas)!

yes.. after stagnating for such a long time after the whole wcs thing, i've finally up and shook myself into writing an entry here. updates on the whole trip is over here… (with many unglam photos and fangirling). i'm still feeling the emptiness even after so long T.T

while i told myself before the trip that i'll probably not cosplay anymore after that, i find myself working on 4 new costumes just right after the trip (and all requested...! maybe i'll stray away from cosplaying individually, eventually). and i'm actually going to go overseas just to cosplay... not shop?! the old mentality of taking leave+paying money just to go overseas to spend a day in costume doesn't sound as unappealing anymore, maybe. and it seems that i've gotten quite a kick out of putting up performances (if they don't end badly...). MAYBE MAYBE.

UGHHH, and it's all because someone told me... 'christy, i will ずっとずっと cosplay する... until i am old', and i wonder why this sentence has affected me so much... you 바보!! >:(

even though i thought i was old enough to stop cosplaying, italy has proven that you can still cosplay at age 40+! of course, there are many many reasons why i should still continue... *_*

well, i'll probably be working on my costumes over the weekend, and hope i'm not too lazy to go for some more shoots. i have been distracted by the iphone i got from my company recently, it's seriously an addiction. someone take it away from me please!!! i'm virtually on ebuddy/skype/twitter/facebook 24/7 now!! GOSH. -stabs myself-

you know, when i participated in wcs, it has never occurred to me that i'll be representing singapore someday. it was just a tiny dream to me to be able to go korea (and see lee jun ki, but that's another story).

i remembered when they announced us as one of the finalists to be able to go korea, the happiness i felt was just indescribable. i have never won any competition, and i never did have much confidence in the things that i do, that i was just amazed that something i did actually worked (did it work? rather, did it actually happen?)

in singapore, competitions were seen as something people abstained from participating. why? we always thought the performances were lame, and the worst cosplayers always participated. they spoilt the image of cosplay and we didn't want to be associated with them (not that we are proclaiming that we are good). in addition, the prizes were always very strange (vouchers, anyone?), and it felt like they were just trying to make cosplayers look like desperate students who would exchange their pride for makeshift cash. singaporean cosplayers were often demeaned, and there was every right to think this way - we wear the weirdest thing to parade around, and we're not ashamed because we want attention. we talk loudly, sometimes loudly cussing in our broken singlish, that people often think that we're a bunch of unruly kids. spoilt, uncultured, uneducated. because dressing up is simply child's play.

i think it was the korea wcs that changed our cosplay scene and took it up a notch. even though we did put in a lot of effort for our semi-rounds, we were far from what the koreans had shown in their competition. the solo cosplayers were amazing (and i often wonder, what can you do by yourself?), the korea fighting was fast and real... and what amazed me the most was the karas group - they fought in their bulky LED armour with swift actions, and one of them even did a backflip. i think that was when i realised.. what we often thought was good, was nothing compared to them. what you thought was dressing up was serious and professional business to them. they were much more mature, and they took their competitions seriously.

that is why when we came back, we all took a piece them home too. takahan always say that you need to invest to produce something good, and true enough - if you want to put on cheap cosplay and attract cheap attention, you will never be able to produce a good piece of art, and we will always circulate in the same area. that is why when someone put in just a little more effort than the rest, they can own the competition easily.

yesterday, i was touched and honored by all the finalists. i am glad to be fighting with you guys on the same stage. i love the fact that everyone put in their 200% (maybe more), and i believe our scores were probably only a little margin away. i wanted to cry, not because we were going to be representatives, or that i had probably won the biggest prize of my life, but because you guys put in so much that i really hope when they said the top 2 gets to go japan, they really meant the top 2 pairs :(

to :iconayatenshi: i'm sure you will be an even greater ayumi. keep singing and dancing! PWN PWN PWN!!! when i get a new sewing machine i will kuasa mine to you ok 8D and thanks for the bra lols. nono it's not cursed!! why would i curse myself!!

to :iconraistlin03: please pwn all the mini competitions from now on and up the sg cosplay scene. all the marketing depends on you now!!! i will be waiting to celebrate all your glory!!! HUR HUR. i didn't sabo your pillar, they still fall properly ok.

remember our 四人组ok. (bixxx+moesinxxx+armxxx+acroxxxxxx) bwhahwhwahawhaw.

and to my partner :iconpink-fishy: bahamut rocks. you totally owned the scene. i'm unreasonable, impatient and impractical, but too bad you have to stick with me now (unless you want to find xxxx to be your partner). so one more month of torture for you and more ass-kicking!! the one word to tell you now: 忍!

and yes, another month of hell begins...!

"see you in japan!" <3

it is very true that some people cannot take criticisms.

and they'll get back at you no matter what.

as you drown in the face of pretense, perhaps a smack of reality dawning would leave you more sober, and  braver to face what is beyond the surface.

don't think you'll always be above the clouds.

i think about all sorts of things - my projects, people, events that took place.

and i don't know why i can't make certain things work.

maybe i just don't want to sleep. but i want tomorrow to come, soon.
