"The Walk of the Silent Man" was based on a dream I had. I painted this immediately on waking. In it seven coachmen left a small village to walk to the seven cedars past a curved red brick wall. Once there they removed their boots and socks, put their boots back on with their socks over the top of the boots, and returned to the village doing "the Walk of the Silent Man"!

I've not a clue what it means, but it was so very potent I felt compelled to capture it. :)

Great use of brushwork to achieve the surreal landscape of dreams. Over all, a most unusual and impressive piece. It stands out from the work you usually share on DA, so big thanks for sharing it!

This is quite a fascinating piece. I am always inspired by my dreams and yet I hardly ever paint them. The times I have, I've struggled over how to capture not only the literal figures of the dream, but also the atmosphere, the mood, the distorted presence of the place. You've done that so well here that I didn't see the men walking at first, but upon staring deeper, I noticed them. I love that hidden in plain site effect. I could stare at this for hours.

Interesting... I saw a bunch of Katanas, first. But upon reading your description I see the men, of course. Awesome painting.
