Personal history
Lara never expected much out of life, from the time when her families home on the space station Watchtower was taken by debtors, to when she was separated from her family as they were sent to debtors prison and she was sent into slavery due to lax lawkeeping in that area of space, she eventually escaped, although records are uncertain about what happened due to the destruction of the Pluto colony where she was taken and her recalcitrance to discuss the events. She was later found singlehandedly piloting one of the ships reported missing, presumed destroyed from the colony, the GD captured her with difficulty and given her homeless status and obvious skill in piloting (and shooting) the captain of the patrol made the controversial choice to induct her into the military college. Given the lack of galactic upheaval at the time she was able to spend several years training and undergoing simple patrol/peacekeeping missions accruing and impressive record prior to the uprising. At which point she met Maria partway through the campaign when she was 20 and Maria almost 16. When the uprising ended and Maria left for the SG program, Lara quickly followed due to a fondness for her former wingman and a shared appreciation of the benefits of acting semi-independently. After a few missions however Lara was exposed to a bizarre accident that transferred her mind into the body of an highly advanced android, programmed to act as “Companion”, bodyguard and assassin for whoever it was “imprinted” upon, naturally Maria was targeted by this program due to their tentative unspoken feelings towards one another and prior association as human mind and machine protocols blended, her human body was severely damaged in this event and while the GD medical/R&D division recovered, stabilised and begun to heal it, with the promise that they would work to find a way to transfer her mind back, Lara seems remarkably unconcerned about her state of being and is now concerned only with working with, and at times attempting to seduce her partner. And despite all of this seems to very much retain her personality, skill and independent thought, with a decided possessiveness towards Maria. However due to GD protocol concerning synthetic beings, Lara has been declared unfit to serve as an SG agent and is now registered as Personal Robotic Aide to agent Saunders.
