WIP of a pose I did. Practicing anatomy.
Reference used for pose.

I can't decide how I want the final to be. Should I try cell shading it or do my usual style?

I think it looks great how it is, honestly. But if you must shade or color it, start with your usual first.

I have never tried comic style cell shading before. Considering this is a character test from a comic I am wanting to fiddle with.. I may need to learn it XD

Why I suggested your normal style first. Cell shading for the most part isn't hard. Its roughly two to three shades of a color on a single item. Sometimes its not even that. Also less blendy blendy from what your gonna be used to.

Very true! It takes me several hours to draw something and only.. well a few minutes to get the basic shading done usually XD

Sha! takes me usually about 1hr to 4 depending on what it is that I am doing. But its otherwise terribly simple.

I am trying it on a new drawing now. Been live streaming and so far.. not too bad. ^^ When I LS next I'll post the link in my journal. Hopefully you can catch it. Probably will be tomorrow night.

Aside from simply wanting to know how to do it I can't fathom why you'd want to. I'm trying to get away from it (and failing, woo like so much else) and wanting to do a bit more realism far as skin and stuff goes.

Ok posted the latest up. I got at least halfway between comic style shading and realism! XD I have found that I am actually just not stopping and making the shading defined, and blurring it instead. That is the trick to my realism style I guess.
