Superbar 1.0.2
70.1K Views|1 Today
This rainmeter skin is old. It was made years ago and hasn't been updated much since. It probably still works but it might be a bit clunky compared to more recent skin suites.
Maybe Superbar will see an update at some point but I currently have no plans for one.

-- Description --
SuperBar 1.0 is finally here! With an extra .2 added all for you sake. :)
If you haven't already done so please download the newest version of Rainmeter, 1.3, from rainmeter.net before you install this suite, you will not be able to install it on older versions.

With SuperBar you have everything you need I one neat, nice looking, minimalistic and easily customizable bar at the top of you screen.

Includes the following bar items:

Media Player Controllers for iTunes, Winamp and WMP

-- FAQ --
Q. Will you please add a foobar controller?
A. No. Just use the foobar plugin in foo_winamp_spam found here chronial.de/foobar2000/foo_win… and you can control it with the winamp controller.

Q. Will you create a reader for Hotmail or Yahoo.
A. No, I would if it was possible but there doesn't seem to be a way.

Q. Will you do a more advanced and good looking notes skin?
A. Well, maybe... feel free to give me a good reason why a more advanced one is needed :)

-- Tips & Tricks --
-Customized the SuperBar by clicking the gear on the right side of the bar.
-Customized DropDowns for Items such as Apps, Gmail and Facebook by opening the DropDown (Click the Item on the bar) and click the gear in the bottom right corner of the DropDown
-Some Items has special actions when their icon is right or middle clicked, for example, right-clicking the Media Controllers will open the player for that control and a middle click will cycle trough the controllers (iTunes, Winamp, WMP), this also applies to the clock which will switch between 24h and 12h format.
-Some Items display more info in a tooltip if you hover the mouse over their icon, for example the media controllers will show song info and the battery monitor will give more detailed information.
-Click the battery monitors icon to get access windows power plans
-Click the wifi monitor to open the network and sharing center

I ran into so many problems with installing this program that  I am not touching any program from this site.  (Unless someone can show me a program that does take a programs skill to work) I could take a lot of space with the installation stuff i went through...it was terrible...but I'm tired from cleaning up the mess.  Why such a crude  program using crude formats.  I guess it harder and time consuming to write a workable interface.  There is a trade off...the average user is not going to use this program...that cuts down on your audience.  And if the program is self contained but need one or more other programs to make the first...it too complex...too time consuming and too error pron.

Well, this isn't a program, it is a skin, or rather a suite of skins for Rainmeter (which is why it's in the Rainmeter category).
I'd agree that configuring it is a bit crude but back when I made it that was simply the best way to do it, it could be done better now but I haven't updated it in quite a while.

Really like the bar. Is there any way to make it pop up when you move the mouse all the way to the top of the screen? Thanks.

any support for people who don't use shitty resource-hogging-itunes?

There already is support for WMP, Winamp and Foobar (check the FAQ).

Foobar should be great for anyone who only want something that plays music and prefer their RAM to be free and wasted rather than being used by something ;)

Really like this skin. I made a few tweaks to the battery monitor. The battery low and critical never show up on my laptop. Changed the battery icon into a bar meter and added new icon to show if the ac was plugged in or not. I have used this to replace the windows taskbar, using a different program to display tray icons and such. Excellent work, looking forward to see what else you do with it. Thanks!

Glad you like it. :) Also like hearing that you could mod it to fit you better, that's what makes rainmeter so great!

Sorry to say it though, I made this quite a while ago and I'm personally not using Rainmeter any more so I likely won't be updating this or make any new Rainmeter skins for quite some time, if ever.

Would you mind if I uploaded some of my changes to DA. I would certainly credit you for doing all the hard work! Thanks again.

Sure, go ahead, as long as you give proper credits(to me and anyone else whos work is used, check my credits, there are some assets done by others) and link back to SuperBar.
Also, as the license states ([link]) you have to release using the same (or very similar) license.

Oh, and make sure to send me a note with a link to whatever you upload :)

Glad to hear you got WMP working.

Supertweet seem to have stopped working they way it used to and thus makes it impossible for Rainmeter to work with Twitter in any easy way :/
Poiru is working on a Twitter plugin for Rainmeter, when he gets that done I might implement it.

As for websites, well I figured that wasn't really an all to useful component, most people have their browser running all the time with bookmarks ready, if not they just use it, having website launchers on the desktop just seemed pointless. As such the websites item was never completed, some basic files where left in the folders though which is what you have found :p

This is the best skin for Rainmeter!!
But I have a small glitch: when set to "DesktopWorkArea", all the icons for some reason, are displaced by 6 pixels down. With nothing to hold on, even if they are put in place a mouse or write to the configuration file.

Hmm, didnt quite get that, sorry.
What exactly are you saying is the problem, could you show maybe? Screenshot?
Might be able to take a look at it.
