Hey there, everyone!
Zahzumafoo here with a much-needed update to the club's blog!
During my college endeavors, I've been spending very little time on DeviantArt, and for that I apologize! However, that's not to say there's no life around the Lemur Club! Lovely folks have still been contributing their works, and I encourage anyone and everyone to continue doing so! While there aren't any large updates to the group planned, right now, I still wanted to take the time to highlight how much all of your contributions are appreciated!
You may not realize it, but simply by drawing and supporting lemurs, you can help them out in a big way! To explain why sharing your lemur-love matters, we would like to emphasize the sort of critical need our beloved little prosimians are in:
-----
Lemurs are the most endangered mammals on EarthNot giant pandas. Not tigers. Not wolves. Not orcas.
Not any of the animals that are so commonly drawn, emphasized, or fought for.
Lemurs of all species may go extinct within 10-20 yearsThe lemurs of Madagascar are declining at a devastating pace, and a large part of that is simply because
nobody knows, and so nobody cares.
This group, in its own small way, is a testament to the fact that there ARE some people who care.
We can be the voice for the lemurs -- by sharing our love of them through our art, photography, and other works, we can help inspire and educate others about these incredible animals!
-----
We hope everyone will also get inspired to keep drawing and sharing your lemur-related works, because simply voicing and sharing your passion can really make a huge difference! If you can inspire love in others by showing them how beautiful our little leapers are, you will enlighten more people to the plight they face, and add more voices to support their conservation!
Misaotra ("thank you!") to you all for caring about the lemurs, and we look forward to seeing all of your new submissions!
