Hey there peeps just want to update yall and what has happened art-wise since November lol.
The four scratchboards i submitted to the Whodunit? art sale did not get sold (tear) but i'm not really sad about it or anything i just want to start getting my work out there.
The Book Arts Fair that happened last semester was a HUGE success. I made a little more than $300 just selling my prints. I also sold a couple of "Meet me at the gates" to some fellow art students which i was very happy about.
I have completed my edition of 50 prints for the Australian exchange, and will be posting the print on here soon. I haven't gotten my share of prints from the exchange because other students at OCAD didn't finish they're edition and received an extension!!! grrr... i was on time!
Anyways, this semester we had a class show exhibited at Transit Space inside my school called "Loot Bag". It was super cute and neat and totally worth it since we didn't have to pay anything. The lady that organized it actually contacted me just recently about something else which i'll get to shortly.
The print "Meet me at the gates" was admitted to the Art of the Figure show we had in our Great hall and i was awarded the "honourable mention" from the printmaking portion of it.
I have just recently paid my share for a group show that one of our class assistants is organzing, called Rock n Roll II (its a lithography-only show.... get it?) and the show will take place first week of June at the Sleeping Giant Gallery. I haven't made any lithos since last semester, and I definitely want to show something other than the ones i made previously.
ALSO the 1000 works for $10 will be going again at the same gallery, the *Hotshot, and it will take place first week of April. I think its a great way to sell some work that's been lying around and make some cash
FINALLY, i was contacted by the organizer for our "Loot Bag" show and she saw my print that was in the Art of the Figure show and asked if i wanted to be a part of the graduation show that they are putting on in the end of the semester. I was like, HELLS YEAH so I will be putting in a print that i've been working on for the past couple months (its the largest yet) and it will be shown "salon-stlyle" in the gallery. This is sort of a big deal to me because i was selected out of how many people?!?! and as a third-year student too??!?! among all the graduate works!?!
so REALLY excited about that and i'll update again when things have progressssed.
