This is an older artwork I did, getting to grips with Photoshop.
The cube images are pen drawings drawn on 1ft square MDF board, scanned and then 'played with' using Photoshop.
I've always been attracted to geometric graphic designs and I did this to show my love of the CUBE.
Below is another example that has cubic elements mixed with natural forms.
Welcome to my profile; a small corner in the Deviant Universe where I sit and play without a care in the world.
I studied drawing and painting and have recently started to play around with 3D graphics. I am still learning and progressing within this overwhelming medium so please be patient for new works!
My oeuvre is mainly based on a classic British sci-fi TV program (my profile pic should explain this), and it's my goal to display the best work at present. Providing my computer holds out during this time I would like to think a progression of image quality and design ideas communicates the wonder and humour of Dr.Who. So sit back and raise a nice glass/bottle of ginger ale or whatever and be entertained by my efforts into the digital 3D expanse.
I am not beyond criticism and welcome (within reason) any suggestions and new ideas to improve my work. So, feel free to comment upon anything that merits your interest.
I hope you enjoy your visit.
For those who wish to see artworks without fan content and prefer to view more traditional subject matter then please visit the Drawing and Painting folders. The work in those folders are primarily done without computer aid and are created by my own hand.
I was very recently granted another year on this planet. Every cell in my body decided to give it another go and thusly I witnessed a new sunrise. While this passing of time may remain unremarkable for some, it touches me with an outstretched hand upon my shoulder and a careful whisper in my ear; that mortality is subject to all life and can not be held back; like a troll with an internet connection and keyboard, it continuously rattles on without regard of fee fees.
You find me in this maudlin state of mind because I’m also considering my dA lifespan, five years under my belt already and nervously treading towards the sixth one without an apparent care in the world. Only, I do care. I like having a plan, a route to trek through what can seem to be uncharted territory. I’ll cut to the chase with the flowery metaphors; I need a new artistic direction!
So, my plan, as it stands, is to continue doing my usual thing. I flatter myself that within those five years I’ve acquired Watchers and I’m readily conscious of their kind words of encouragement. I could not (nor will not) desert them by going ‘off piste’ creating something inconsistent with what has gone before. There is still room for improvement and I want to continue Who based stuff.
However, I’m now seeking new themes and suggestions. For those who caught my recent submissions; that idea came from a simple exchange of messages between myself and another deviant friend, who requested her character be rendered in 3D. I undertook this project as a challenge, to take up my 3D tools and create something that went beyond my comfort zone. After two initial false starts I managed to cobble together something that met with her approval.
Having said that, I’m not going to be accepting suggestions willy-nilly because that would be silly. Anything that catches my eye or an idea that sparks a train of thought is welcome.
So, here’s some nice pleasant scenery I trampled over to celebrate my birthday.
An extinct volcano and now home to roaming cows and sheep. The Law is ‘home’ for me, growing up in its shadow when we lived up there in a converted farmhouse. Those were happy times and I treasure them with all my heart.
At my sister’s suggestion, we journeyed up on foot to the Law’s summit. We were blessed with good weather; the evening sun creating a ‘magic hour’ effect that would be the envy of any self-respecting cinematographer. After a heavy hike and because we’re middle class a small bottle of Prosecco was popped open to celebrate.
