Two versions of Vintage Flying helmet, goggles up and goggles down.  These are "hat" options for the civilian pilot costume which comes with S&E version of The Movies.

I would like to make the lenses partially transparent, but can't make it work.   The blurry rotor worked okay, but the lenses to the goggles aren't transparent.  I tried to different textures, generic_window.dds and glass.dds, but they are still opaque.  Any suggestions?

I have yet to find out have to turn on theMovies version of alpha in Blender.
I have to use MeshManip or MED (TheMoviesEditor)
You can import a Movies version of Goggles, then delete all the items accept the lens.
Save it as AppendAlphaMaterial.blend
Save and load 3Xs & Load 3Xs to rid the .blend of all the other materials.
Then open your pilot hat project,
select append, then select Material,
Select the only material list (as it should be the lens)
Then apply the material to your new goggles object lenses.
Be sure to change the texture also in the material,
to that of your custom lens's texture.

Thanks!  I needed that.

The secret must be in the material.  The mesh import script generates the material, then the export script writes it all out again.
This is probably the easiest way to do it, however.  It only took a few minutes and it worked the first try.

Or use MashManip to re-write the name of the texture in the texture tab....
