I'm on a roll today! I have not drawn a realistic portrait with blacklead pencils in pretty much 1,5 years. I should really practice this more... But I am really proud of this one, I got the proportions right in like 10 minutes (I usually struggle a lot and the nose always looks to small in the end - not this time though!)
I love Ian McKellen, it was really difficult to get the beard right... Is it even possible to make good white beards with blacklead drawings in this scale? Anyway, this was done on an A4 paper. I can't really estimate the worktime. I would guess between 4-5h... I like went to the gym, made some dinner and watched some Doctor Who which resulted in a few gaps where I didn't draw.
This is great. Good job.
Very nice! I bet it was hard to make the wrinkles without making it over-done; like, which folds to show where. Sir McKellen has a very interesting face, and you did a lovely job capturing it.
Thanks! It really was... Skin is difficult to draw I reckon, which level of detail should be kept and so on. Very nice comment, thanks again!
R.I.P. Morgan Freeman.
